Connecting PS3 Controller to Computer

So I am trying to connect my PS3 controller to my computer. I downloaded motionjoy to see if I could download the drivers etc., but the problem is that the computer refuses to recognize the driver. I put USB into multiple ports on my computer to no avail.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I followed this guide to use my Dual Shock 3 on my Windows 10 PC:

The guide uses something called ScpTool. It’s a bit scary but I followed the guide exactly and had no problems.

I’d recommend just following the steps for USB until you’re comfortable with what’s going on.

I’ve never tried MotionInJoy but I did a quick search on Reddit and people are warning against using it.

I would seriously suggest not doing it. It's just more awkward than it needs to be when there are plenty of good alternatives
