I started the new Zelda. It's fun so far.

Mainly still been playing through the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection. Now, finally, onto the last case of the second game. Generally speaking I tend not to get caught up in spotting plot holes and things like that, but some of them here are pretty rotten. You start one case where a medical professional brings an unidentified person with amnesia to you on the basis that they were found with your business card, and it's only after you figure out their identity that they then present you with the other items they were found with, including a LETTER ADDRESSED TO THEM. I love these games but they are not the strongest in the series, and two in a row like this is testing my patience a little.

Have started dipped my toes into UFO 50 too. It's such a ridiculously ambitious game concept, and you can tell straight off that it's fully committed to doing the "old games = hard" concept, refusing to hold your hand or feeling any obligation to tell you how its obtuse mechanics work. Feels like a lot of them are going to have some arcane knowledge required to take them apart, but I played two of the shooters which just seemed to be plain ol' tough as old boots. This will be a marathon, not a sprint.

Also finally tried out a little bit of Windjammers 2. I like the presentation of it, and I like that there's a tutorial mode to teach me all the stuff I never figured out in the original. This is about as far as I've made it so far.

Astro Bot. I think I'm pretty near the end of this. Loved it so far, just beautifully made. Managing to play when I can get near the controller because my little boy has decided this is the best game ever and is absolutely smashing his way through it.

I've picked Tears of the Kingdom up again, having got stuck somewhere, but I've now worked it out and it was obvious anyway... Another beautifully made game that's easy to get lost in.

Apart from that, been playing bits of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection with the boy, having great fun trying out all the characters.

I've decided to get back into Cyberpunk as well, having dropped off for about 6 months. Superb game.

F1 World Grand Prix - I used to love this, but now it feels janky and impossibly hard.
FzeroX - I am not great at this game, but I read gamefaqs and it says side attacks are the real way to go around corners. I try them and veer off the track
Blast Corps - fun as ever. This never gets old
              1080 - ditto. Amazing
Pilotwings - ditto. Amazing, but the frame rate is a bit rough at times

Tempted to restart Zelda OOT. Probably won't. Surely only teenagers have time....
Well, this is annoying. My ghost on one of the 1080 tracks is 1:10, which I was pretty pleased with. But I'm now 3 seconds off the pace. And then I look on speedrunners and 1st place is 1:06. wtf. It's not like they are cheating or anything either. Seems to just land everything slightly better to maintain full speed all the time. See you in a few weeks. If anyone needs me, ping me on facebook or something

Might also have to dig out Avalanche.

                Tiny Glade

It's more of a toy than a game, in that there's no real goal here. You build little villages from a set of provided tools and can take screenshots of them. It's relaxing fun for an hour, but it does seem pretty limited in scope. It's interesting finding new ways in which the materials react to each other, so laying different width paths will have different effects on walls, houses etc., but it really needs more objects to play with I think.

It's cheap and I think worth supporting, the engine this game runs on has been created by the devs, no small feat, and it does look really pretty.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster - Finished the main mode and now onto the very fun Infinity Mode. Loving it.

Yakuza Kiwami - The TV series is due to land in October. I've finished Zero, so I'd like to finish this next.

Fist of the Northstar: Lost Paradise - I had no idea that this game was made by the Yakuza team. It's actually really frickin good! You can unlock classic Sega choons for your car! It's Yakuza in Mad Max with exploding head punches!

Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends - After seeing the impressive DW Origins trailer, I thought I'd have a go at the series (I played it a long time ago on PS2). So far I am enjoying it. Yes it's repetitive, but it has that EDF vibe where the combat against constant waves of enemies if just loads of fun.

                    That's a great mix!

I love a mushou, so loved Ken's Rage, but got bored of Lost Paradise really quickly. I was gutted.

So it turns out the gold boarder is actually better. I thought it was just cosmetic. I've only unlocked the ice boarder. Need to beat the gold boarder now (and get the penguin board)

Chipping away at various stuff over the last few days finally time to sit and game my ass off.

Zelda echoes of wisdom has been charming so far, even with that terrible framerate changing constantly however the dungeons and the overworld are a joy to explore. I love the tilt shift aesthetics i hope nintendo visit this style some more in future zelda games it's a nice break away from the more realistic BOTW style. Only reached the 2nd main dungeon but i have been taking my time trying to uncover as much of the overworld map as possible and copying every new echo i come across as the more i have the easier puzzles will be at solving and i love how there's many ways to do it.

Gundam breakers 4 i have pretty much done with the story and i have done most of the quests upto hardcore so i'm starting to work at the extreme & newtype difficultys but they really don't mess around on the highest difficulty it takes aaaaages to kill a single enemy at that level. Still loving farming for parts it's the most addictive aspect to the game for me i'm really tempted to grab the dlc as it continues the story with more missions and quests so it gives me more to use my gundams in as some new stages to explore would keep it fresh & im not done with it yet.

Cashcow DX was an impulse purchase as it's from the same devs as donut dodo, really fun but feels a lot harder than donut but i'm guessing i need more practice but i really like all the new mechanics in this one. I REALLY hope that pix n love give this one a physical release like they did donut.

Touhou danmaku kagura is the one i have been playing quite a bit of, as rhythm games go it's a really good one. At 176 tracks in the special edition it's a substantial chunk of music and it's all pretty great i have heard some of the touhou stuff thanks to crossovers in taiko but it's nice to hear so much that i have never heard before. A ton of mechanics and modifyers as well as the miitama cards that add in loads of replayability just like in bandori as you can level them all up and they all give various effects, when it comes to rhythm stuff the switch is the superior console compared to playstation & xbox down to the fact of a built in touch screen making it easy to bring over the touch mechanics from rhythm stuff as most nowadays come from mobile instead of arcades. In touch mode the game changes and makes gives yet another avenue to extend play enjoyment i'm currently learning standard button mode but the difficulty is no joke i can just about cope with normal but hard and lunatic are insanely difficult for me so far it's going to take a while to get my skills up to it. One really fun twist in this game is the danmaku boss stages where you have to juggle not only playing a rhythm game down the sides of the screen but also shoot the boss and dodge bullets to say it's a tester for multitaking is an understatement I LOVE IT

I thought I'd had my fill of (survival) horror with Alan Wake 2 but I couldn't resist diving into the new Silent Hill 2 last night (after a brief Astro Bot palate cleanser). I'm no mega fan ... I played number 1 on PlayStation but never made it through 2 (a mate told me a spoiler so I'm going to blame him for that). But even though I never finished it I loved lots about the original PS2 game ... the atmosphere, the characters, the music ... unbelievable ... so the remake was always going to have its work cut out. In a Meatloaf style two-outta-three-aint-bad scenario I think the new one ticks the atmos and music boxes nicely but the characters look odd. They've been my only turn-off since details of the remake surfaced. But playing the game I honestly forgot about that. They're the characters in this game and they fit fine. Walking around the town feels very authentic to the PS2 experience. And it's more fleshed out than I remember too ... with more to do (iirc) and more to interact with. Just arrived at the apartments before turning in and feeling very positive about the whole thing. Super grateful this remake happaned at all

Been playing a lot but today i finished off Europa, it's such a beautiful game it comes from the same family of games as Journey, Abzu, Sky children of light with visuals that very much feel like Ghibli's Laputa. By the end i was totally invested in that story as i hunted down pages to find out what happened and explore the dreamlike enviroments. Games like this really don't come around that often, i could take a million screenshots and each of them would look like desktop wallpaper it just that damn pretty. Free demo on switch but the full game is like £13 it's obscenely cheap for what it is, praying this gets a physical at some point time to start spamming the devs on twitter

Completed Titanfall 2, but still wanted to play something.

After being told I can't play 360 Quantum of Solace on the One, I put on Asura's Wrath (insert joke about Blobcat finishing off the loo roll and not replacing it).
Looking back on here, I bought it in January 2015, so had it on the shelf nearly a decade!

Look, it's pretty bonkers, lads. Preeeetty bonkers.

I played it for about 30 minutes and got through about 3 levels, but I feel like I've played a lifetime.
Cutscenes, QTEs, Rez-style target shooting, flying through space punching aliens, a giant alien the size of a planet got punched too, 3rd-person fighting, score screens, plot-advancing manga pages, a tutorial and some serious melodrama.

Not quite sure how much I was playing and if I was enjoying myself, but I hope it calms itself down soon.

The plot is seriously nonsensical bobbins that was making me laugh at how bonkers it was, but took itself very seriously.

Played a couple of Vampire Survivors levels to unlock a few more bits, but it's nearly complete.
Maybe 10 things in total left to do in the challenges and secrets, but all the main game achievements are done.
                                Great game and highly recommended.
