Bioshock Infinite - Past the halfway mark now and due to how many times I've played it before I'm taking a very run and gun whistlestop tour approach this time

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - Somewhere in Chapter Four and it's still fun in terms of play but it feels over padded and some sections feel like quite a chore

Dogg Thang ruined this series by describing it as a desk drawer-opening simulator with a bit of combat.
It's so true. You spend 73.8% of your time rummaging.

Never played Infinite, despite it being free on one or more of the free subscription games.
I got miffed at launch when they announced DLC before the game even came out.
I would have bought it if they'd said "buy this game, would you kindly?"

I've got the difficulty cranked all the way down so thankfully it keeps rummaging to a minimum, ammo is in heavy supply. The first DLC is fairly by the numbers, the second is alright depending on how much you wanted crossover with the original.

I've loved all the Fallout DLC I've played because it really does do something different with each one, but the Bioshock stuff looks more of the same and by the time you've finished rummaging through more drawers and cupboards than IKEA, I was done.

Infinite's DLC would have been better delivered in one installment, Bioshock 2's DLC was brilliant but also importantly concise. If I remember correctly, the first Infinite DLC mostly rests on nostalgia bait, the second one always felt more effort full. Man, I wish they'd crack on with Bioshock 4.

Having come down with a cold I had a quiet weekend, and made a start on Baldur's Gate 3.

I'm a few hours in now, playing as a halfling bard, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm a lot more interested in the interactions and dialogue than the fighting, to be honest, and it's delivering. The interactions and chitchat are incredibly well done and I'm really liking how my high-charisma character is able to ace persuasion attempts. I'm aiming for him to be likeable and quick to build rapport, but with a bit of hidden edge in terms of a background as a 'Charlatan', which grants bonuses for deception.

A very cool game and it's a good moment to play, with the final major patch just having dropped and the game essentially now being complete. My three year old Mac is holding up pretty well too in terms of performance at 1440p, which is gratifying (I'm playing on PC bc a friend kindly gifted me a Steam copy ).

Sorry! Thing is, for all the flaws - and for me the biggest, like Bioshock, is in thinking it’s way smarter than it actually is - Infinite still a great game to play through. And the DLC then leads to what I felt was an even more satisfying conclusion.

In what seems to be a slightly unpopular opinion, Bioshock 2 is still my favourite.

still addicted to Sekiro. I can't play anything else as I'll lose my muscle memory

I remember taking a break from Spider-Man in the latter section of the game and got squished when I first tried to pick it up again.

Yeah it's vital to keep up momentum with those kinds of games I find.

Similar to how in old school Resi all the things you need to remember - where the statue that needs the blue gem in its eye is, etc - drift out of your head if you stay away too long and it's really hard to get back to.

I made the mistake of putting Midnight Suns down for a couple of weeks. I never got much further after that

Started Diablo 4 on PS5. It's drab and tedious in every way and I can't be bothered with it.

I was playing Vampire Survivors and I'm really close to doing all the cheevs.
However, I planned on doing "one more level" at just gone 11pm, then looked at my watch and it was 1am.
                            Be careful out there, gang.

                              I hear this from everybody.

The advertisements got me to boot up Diablo III in order to manually 'recover' (ie, rebuild) my Demon Hunter after I lost the last one thanks to Nintendo wiping my cloud saves after not subbing to NSO for 12 months. I've been insanely lucky with some drops, the main one being my Yang's Recurve bow which is very close to being Primal Ancient spec, so this Demon Hunter is a lot more powerful than my old one now. Currently solo pushed to GR112 with ease. There's no reason GR130 shouldn't be doable with these stats.

Yakuza Kiwami (PS5) - God bless Heat finishes.
Castlevania Dominus Collection (PS5) - Working my way through Order of Ecclesia. I love these games.
Castlevania Advance Collection (PS5) - Finished Vampire Kiss and now digging into Circle of the Moon.
The Last of Us Part 1 (PS5) - I've tried to playthrough this about 3 times now and always seemed to get side tracked by another game. Let's see how I go. Enjoying so far.
