Anticipating: July and August 2020

The 2020 dry season marches on with a lot less releases than we're typically used to. As a result the bigger releases stand out even more and the backlog feels more present than ever. There's always time and money to potentially add to that backlog though with software you don't get on release so once again we look at what games will get picked up at launch over:

July and August 2020

Tell us of anything you plan to buy that isn't on the list but which of the above key releases will you be picking up?

Paper Mario day 1. Tsushima, F1 and NASCAR when they drop in price.

Everything else is a maybe or not at all.

If Paper Mario gets good reviews I'm in.

I know that The Wonderful 101 Remastered is already out digitally, but the physical version gets its general release on July 3rd. I'll probably get that as well (Switch version).

Will be picking up Skater XL unless it bombs in reviews, which I doubt will happen, and probably the PGA game if it's any good. I like the odd golf game and it's been a while since there was a good "proper" one.

Maybe Paper Mario too, but I'll see- got plenty to be getting on with on Switch. And everything else for that matter.

BTW - Every reply that doesn't include the words Deadly, Premonition and 2 in here is wrong. Charles is ready with the banhammer

I played about ten minutes of the first Deadly Premonition about a week or so ago. It's very janky. I'm not sure I'll make it through that game given I didn't experience it back in the day.

I have had a premonition that Ghost Of Tsushima is going to be awesome!

The thought of playing as a deadly samurai and dispatching 2 or more enemies at the same time fills me with excitement!!
Neon Ignition ahem, how's that?!

Not a single game on that list interests me.

I loved the original Rock of Ages so maybe I'll check out this third one.

Only Paper Mario day one unless I can get pre-order discounts...which normally happen during E3. No E3 = no discounts?
Iron Man VR, Ghost of Tsushima and FFCC Remaster when they drop in price.

Perfectly understandable, I'm sure it will be good but how will you have time when you're staring for 12 hours into York's coffee?

If it helps, it was exactly that janky an experience on launch nearly a decade ago too. It makes a horrific first impression and then... something happens and it slowly somehow wins your favour... then your heart... then your soul

I'm excited for this one. Absolutely adored the GBA port of it.

Still feels unreal that we're getting a Deadly Premonition sequel. Can't wait for it.
