Yeah, I expect that'll be the case for a lot of people. Very little interest in it personally but a new OutRun or Virtua Fighter though would swing it

Traditionally you could keep your powder dry safe in the knowledge that it would almost certainly get cheaper the longer you waited. World's gone mad

        Next-Gen Countdown 01/03: 16 Days till Switch 2

        Today: Welcome Tour
Another low priced offering, this software is the playable manual to the system which Nintendo aimed to be a nice introduction to the system but has found itself instead caught up on pricing for something immediately seen as a a title that should have been a free pack in akin to Astro's Playroom for PS5. Nintendo made software does usually find its fans though.

Will you find yourself tempted to join the Tour?

This one seems genuinely bonkers. The graphic design of it is cool but you literally walk around looking at tool tips about the materials used to make the system, it looks like? I don't even look at tool tips when they're thrust upon me but whatever software I'm using at work.

Would've been nice as a pack-in but seems like a very strange thing to buy.

Do we know if there is any actual gameplay, like anything more to it?

I'd probably not give a damn even if it was free and packaged in with every Switch 2.

I'll just join the masses by saying it should have been free. And I feel like, in previous generations, it would have been.

                Next-Gen Countdown 01/03: 16 Days till Switch 2

                Today: Mouse Control
We're officially two weeks away from launch and whilst the system contains several clear changes and improvements on the original hardware, the most distinct is the JoyCon 2's ability to be used for mouse like control. Holding the controllers on their side, they can track movement for aiming, drawing etc. Initial excitement in some quarters arose over this feature, seemed as a potential big feature for titles such as Metroid Prime 4: Switch 2 Edition.

Are you looking forward to this new feature?

No, having gone hands on, it’s too uncomfortable. If however they support a proper mouse that would be a cool thing. Downside is I can’t see me playing at a desk.

I'll give it a try, but if you can't use a proper mouse, I doubt I'll use it at any lenght.

                    [edit] Apparently it does.

We should all know by now that Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons feature a mouse sensor, but we've also just learned that Nint…

                      Next-Gen Countdown 01/03: 09 Days till Switch 2

                      Today: Mario Kart World
Closing in on just a week to go and the largest title at launch is a game many expect to be a game of the year contender, the long awaited next Mario Kart entry. The game sees an open world introduced that blends the hopping, grinding and wall running mechanics to merge platformer with racer. This freewheeling adventure represents a huge shift for the franchise.

                      Expecting Greatness?

Yes! It's the only game I've ordered with my Switch 2 and I hope it delivers. It looks like a lot of fun. Honestly not even convinced that the open world stuff will add much but it does look like a really fun Mario Kart.

I don't know, not completely sold on the open world racing concept. Dry Bones better be in it.

This was just discovered by someone getting their unit early, then others, all Switch2 consoles are bricks out the box, nothing but an internet connection set up then a firmware update that’s not available until launch, then it r loops back.

Launch is going to be interesting for Nintendos 1980’s severs running via a single cotton string in Nintendo hq to save cashy cash.

Having googled it, the internet connection requirement is not confirmed. Nintendo Life speculates that the console is more likely locked to date and time.

Interesting, i can understand if the units were made like a year ago, long before the software is finished, but thats just plain bizarre.
