    It's part emulation
The GC contains some modified N64 hardware, and emulates the rest.

    I just recieved my copy.
Nintendo of America are really nice, great service.
My original copy never arrived. I think someone stole it in the building's mailbox area. So I emailed them and they said they'd send a replacement by courier with tracking number to another address if I liked. They could have told me to get lost, but they were great!

My GC is back home tho, so I've gotta wait

The original game was on a cart, and is on my PC and Xbox now. But now work better.

      The medium doesn't matter.

Jost to post back that my Zelda collection disk arrived today. Took about a week from posting my receipt.

The N64 games look really good. They appear to run really well.

loading times would be affected. If you're running off your pc or xbox then its accessing them from the hard drive. Cd based is likely to cause more time between zones. I haven't played my bonus disk that much, so i'm not aware of the problems. I don't know much about how carts work but i assume its flash rom based or something similar would it not be able to access any sound etc instantly. I doubt they changed oot or mm to put on a cd anyway. Some reasonably high spec pcs have problems running n64 emulators so i wouldn't be surprised if the sound splutters is just down to limitations on the cube. [/waffle]

Loading times shouldn't be issues when the entire game can fit into RAM.

It's all fun, except Zelda 2, which is a bit ****.

The thing you have to appreciate about Zelda 2 is the effect it can have on an impressionable young mind. It has old bearded men muttering cryptic prophicies, unnatural horse-headed monsters and demons for bosses, and castle music that is shocking and frightening. It was completely effective at giving me nightmares when I was 6 years old. But I also thought, "What an awesome game!"

The Adventure of Link: Product of an insane imagination. It's really not that bad!

Zelda 1 and 2 are terrible games. They may have been good 15 years ago but who cares, this is 2004 and both play like complete dogs. Especially Zelda 2, that game is completely tragic.

I've just had my PAL copy crash on me. Majora's Mask, Swamp Skulltula House.

                      Fun up to that point.

And again, this time just as I was coming to the end of the Goron dungeon, which means I've got to do the entire thing again.

Is it just my copy/Cube doing this?

I was walking around that clock town or whatever it's called. THe game froze with a lovely buzzing noise. Annoying.

I've not recieved my copy yet, but to those with the US version, does it support progressive scan?

very nice emulation though, playing the Zelda disc in RGB still looks quite nice today even compared with quite a few PS2 releases. Had another go on Majoras Mask over Xmas while I was at home and acctually really enjoyed it, contrary to my experience on the N64. You can pick up a few of the games on the list for ?15 (Eternal Darkness for example in Dixons) if you can find that then you're getting an absolute bargain with the zelda disc too.
