I can't even think of what would be lost if Acti became part of MS. Even in a scenario where Call of Duty became an Xbox exclusive (which we know isn't on the cards) there's not really much else. Activision is so dependent on that franchise that there's not much else lost for multiformat.

Overwatch would never become exclusive, Warcraft etc isn't even on console to begin with. THPS is... let's be honest, dead. Crash Bandicoot is hardly a decider or that active, let alone that it itself was a Sony exclusive during its peak. Spyro is even less of a case.

Feels like MS moving on from Activision and instead buying one or several other companies in its place will platform lock far more valued IPs than this deal would

I started it up last night but stopped after the long on rails intro bit. I like the visual style and for the sequence I've gone through so far it's a very nice looking game. Things started to feel properly awkward when it started banging on about Russian ingenuity etc and then praising and idealising China. The voice acting is atrocious and fast forwarding speech makes npcs look like they're freaking out as their animations fast forward whilst the world around them doesn't. Moving the character feels good and pretty smooth. But - I've already read that I'm soon to hit the open world area and that the game turns to utter **** at that point so the next play will likely prove pretty critical.

      Re the pro russian stuff

the Ukrainian government has called for the banning of Atomic Heart, the new FPS game developed by Russian game studio Mundfish.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Affairs cited reasons such as the “toxicity” of the game, its alleged promotion of communist ideology and the Soviet Union, and the potential for data collection and transfer to third parties in Russia to ban the game.

In a statement to Ukrainian website Dev.au and in English to PCGamesN, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, Alex Bornyakov, said that an official letter will be sent to Sony, Microsoft, and Valve requesting the ban of digital versions of Atomic Heart in Ukraine.

The minister also called for users around the world to avoid the game due to its funding from Russian enterprises, and the alleged lack of condemnation by the developers of the Putin regime and the conflict in Ukraine.

**** game, and a real **** storm coming its way by the look of things, really disappointed about this as i was really looking forward too it

regarding Atomic Heart, it's a Storm in a Teacup, it's such a bad game it will get no traction (looking at the steam charts and the people playing this on twitch are doing it on gamepass) regardless of all the communist propaganda which at first i thought was sarcastic especially with how the Main guy talks but by the 20mins into the lab with the actual gameplay side of it and with all the 'lore' you can pick up, it has to be playing it straight.

I haven't bothered with Atomic Heart as I'm currently in between internet providers but it sounds like an attempt to imitate the best bits of Wolfenstein and Bioshock then failing miserably at what makes those games good.

I get the sentiment but equally in the last 6-9 months they've released:

                    As Dusk Falls
                    Grounded (1.0)
                    Pentiment
                    Hifi Rush
                    Goldeneye 007
                    Age of Empires II

They're actually not doing too badly on the releases front.

Do you think its morally wrong to turn my xbox points into Argos vouchers and buy PlayStation credit, theirs nothing i want on xbox as most big release are coming out on gamepass but i could get a ton of VR games on PSN with all the points Ive saved up

Not at all. You've paid for the vouchers with your clicks and eyeballs. Presumably the redemption rate isn't quite as good as on the Xbox store, to compensate MS further, too?

5850 points vs 7600 points for a £5 voucher so a slightly worse rate but not being locked into spending them on the Microsoft store which always seems to price high and has stock issues is the price you pay. i was saving for a seagate expansion card but their about £100 more on there than amazon and their never in stock and i don't really need one as i'm yet to fill up the internal storage.

Go for it... You've earned it. The only pain is the conversion rate is lower. I tend to buy hardware like controllers instead and then sell/trade them which generally works out at a better deal.

Those limited edition controllers, they trade in rather nicely!
