Already we reach the end of another year and with bulky backlogs and a slew of new year new releases the opportunity to plough headfirst through another year of titles both old and new comes around.


How does the year ahead look for you in terms of aiming to complete the games you want to?
Will you have a productive year ahead or are you anticipating getting through less this time?

I ended up going through over 20 games less in 2021 than I did in 2020. I've found it easy to get distracted by other things at times which has really slowed me down. I'm hoping to ramp things up in 2022 and have already started to make a point of pressing on with things, I'm going to be more proactive about ditching games that I'm not outright enjoying as well. I've stuck it out with so-so stuff too long sometimes.

Every year I think to myself, "This is when I stop buying new games and clear out my backlog". Perhaps 2022 will finally be that year.

Completed Halo Infinite campaign.

Sure, most of my playtime of 40 hrs 40 mins and 36 seconds (according to the save file (I should have hung about in a FOB for 4 more seconds haha)) was before 2022, but the last three hours were very much in 2022, so it counts! I think.

Geez last year was pretty ordinary for me in terms of completing games.

I was so busy with work in the second half I hardly played anything.

I'm looking forward to finishing my plat for Sekiro and playing Elden Ring and Demons Souls.

That will keep me going to June I reckon

Woah, I finished a game too!

Resident Evil 2.
I did both scenarios and dipped into the soldier mission.
Not going to bother with Tofu for now, but the whole game was a real trip.
A bit nostalgic, a bit fresh and bloody tense!

Trover Saves The Universe.
This was a PSVR treat. Similar to Astro Bot, but a lot more sweary!
I even did the DLC straight after.

Hong Kong Massacre.
I ended up not trying to ace each level as it was getting stressful, so just pressed on with the story.
Really enjoyed this, but the difficulty skyrocketed in the last bunch of missions.

Peggle
Hilariously, I showed this to my daughter and she played a few levels until she got bored, then I played my last played level, finished it after a few goes and it was the last level! Took about 84 years, but I completed it!

Split/Second
Bloody loved this!

Tekken 7
Weird difficulty balancing.

The Gunk via Xbox Game Pass.
Yeah, decent little platform puzzler.
Reminded me a bit of Desolate Planet.
Could have been kid-friendly, but had a few mild swears in.

One Finger Death Punch 2 (Xbox One)
This has been such a great game. One to dip into, but I've really wanted to see it through to the end.

Half-Life
I just wanted to test if Steam ran on an old laptop I acquired and ended up falling in love again and played it to the end.

Add "The Medium" to my list of games.

Not bad, not great. A true AA title. Not helped by the mushy buttons and hideous vibration motors on the Series X pad.
