I know, its almost like From don't need to hide the fact its a steaming pile of dogs*** to maximise sales before the inevitable backlash.

Are you guys talking about the fear the publishers of my anticipated games instil by having review embargos only on release day? It always smells fun to me

Feel like I almost want the opposite of what I normally want from a game review; the veteran's viewpoint is probably the important one that should be contributing a review at various outlets, but I'd also really like to hear about it from people who're coming to it with little experience of the series and without any expectations of what's normal / acceptable in this type of game.

This is awesome, it’s exactly what I wanted from a FromSoft mech game.

I want to like it, but so far I'm just pissed off with the sheer lack of progress I've made. An hour into playing and I'm still stuck on the first boss.
Serves me right for buying into hype once again. Apparently I've not learnt.

The suggestions I can give against the first boss are: do not use melee attacks, they bounce off; stay in the air after it hits 75% health; before that, stay below the cockpit and hit as hard as you can, especially in the opening sweep, this does a lot of balance damage and when stunned you can go wild on its lifebar.

Not just me then that’s struggling with that arse muncher, proper difficulty spike on the scale of Ninja Gaidens first boss.

20 mins of play this morning...against that boss. Quite the opposite tactics work BK, melee as much as you can. I beat it on my 5th try this morning.

Mhmmm, maybe I was getting to the boss from the wrong angle, melee attacks would just repel me. I'll be going twin guns anyway, so not much of a problem ignoring melee.

Ok sussed it, keep as close to him as possible and keep up the pressure, get your boost back, fly straight up at him slightly off to the side of the nose (the nose cone has a shield) and double melee, then repeat, plus keep up rockets and guns to chip a bit more off. Takes maybe 3 mins that way, but the main thing is to keep that double slash just off to the side of the nose cone.

                      Pow.
