    Last Show of Gamerweb...

I am sad to see this go, but at least I got to be a guest presenter on the last show. I had a wonderful time and talked waaaaaaay too much about mecha games (such is life).

We need more decent gaming TV shows, especially where the presenters:

    1) ...actually play the games on the show

    ...and...

    2) ...have a a clue about gaming in the first place!

As I said, it will be sadly missed (and I will be signing autographs for a limited time only).

I saw it tonight. Typical I saw the last one and never knew there was a superstar on it.

Its a great shame, I enjoyed my time presenting there and felt that it was a step in the right direction.

Unfortunately it wasn't on a fashionable channel and the Gamezville standard is now seen as the successful formula

Glad you enjoyed yourself Caco, after all whats important is those that know of it, appreciated it, and will miss it...

I only managed to watch a couple of shows but most of it was really bad. Whilst it is good they actually play some of the games on screen it would be nice for them to practise the games before going on air, because all the shows I saw you could tell it was the first time the presenters had played the games.

Depends who you saw playing and what they were playing and when the show was broadcast? I know my experience extends back many years and I'm capable of playing most genres to a high level. Though I specialise in driving games and shoot em ups.

Gaming skills were simply not appreciated by the show producer this meant the inclusion of presenters that had very little knowledge/skill.

I've not visited Gamerweb.com for months and months now, and it's a shame to see the Sega part of the site completely dead. Last time I checked they still had their comprehensive information/news/time-frame/resource section on Shenmue's development.

                Not any more.

No the site was sold in late 2002 and (for some unknown reason?) scrapped? all that remains is a very argumentative forum.

Well, it might have been sold, but the Shenmue time-line/news/preview/review/interview/pics/movies coverage was still there at some point in 2003. I remember seeing it at Segaweb.com as a 'highlight'.

I was going to use it partly as a resource when I get around to writing about Shenmue. Sourcing detailed minute information on the game's development is going to be a heck of a lot more time consuming now.

Ive only seen one show but thought it was very enjoyable and one of the better gaming shows out there. The presenters were nice and refreshing and it was good to see people playing games and having fun playing them.

What are the reasons the show was cancelled?
