So, my friend comes over last night, we were going to try to put an N64 emulator on my XB, and we did no problems. We backed up the C:\ and E:\ just incase we cocked up. All in all it was really quite easy.
After we've transerred all teh files across I plug the XB into my TV, and the moment of truth. I turn the console on and a big fat black screen comes up. Nothing happened my TV just stayed black.
****. My friend and I **** our pants. Ok, so we try to keep our cool I check behind the TV, make sure the scart is in properly and all. Then try again. **** no change.
Right time for back up plan. Transfer C:\ and E:\ back on to my XB so they are exactly as they were before we meddled around. After a nervous 5/6 minutes of waiting the second moment of truth arrives. We stand shaking in our boots at the foot of the XB, and I press the power: THE SCREEN STAYS BLACK!
At this point I was ready to cry. I thought that I must have messed up a file that runs the output device or something, and with no idea which file it could be I fighured I was going to have to send it off and get it fixed by a professional.
One last time, I go to the back of the TV to check the RGB lead was in properly. I look closer and I realise. I'D PLUGGED MY ****ING DVD PLAYER IN, INSTEAD OF MY XB. I felt like such an idot.
I changed them around and it all worked perfectly. The emu was there and the XB was happy as a button! Understandably I'm now the butt of all the jokes in my circle.
Have you had any stupid gaming stories like that?
