Settle an Arguement.Viewtiful Joe is 2D or 3D?

2D gameplay with 3D graphics. Like Ikaruga or Psyvariar.

Its 3D but it is in the style of a 2D platformer, does it really matter. You could say it just shows what could have happened to old school platformers if we hadn't have moved into fully 3D enviroments. Its a shame that the industry abandoned this 2D view just because there was 3D, I hate some of the early 3D games as they show that most developers where walking before they could run with the new technology.

Without that though, 3D now wouldn't be anything like what it is. There would still be all kinds of problems with simple (now) things, like "glass".

And, imho, I think 3D done well eclipses even the most beautiful 2D artwork

But you can use the digital pad with Pro Evo/WE and that's 3D...

As for Joe, like most have said. Traditionally 2D gameplay with posh 3D graphics.
