I go for the Bangai-O screen from Camps, WTF were they thinking when creating Bangai-O ?? I've played the game a lot but I have no idea what the "Story" in the game is supposed to be.

No, not quite.

I might as well spill the beans. The backround is from from Armored Core 2 Another Age, and is from a mission where the player has to face a first generation AC (from the original PSone games in other words) who is known as "Nine Ball".

Now this "character" is probably one of the toughest adversaries in the original games (especially in Master of Arena) and his re-appearance in Another Age was most certainly part of a huge fan service thang (something that From Software are shamelessly cashing in on for the upcoming Nexus).

The actual picture I have linked to is a modified image done by a Japanese AC player called K-2nd. He has basically cut and pasted another AC, called Wasp, which was the lowest ranking Arena opponent in Project Phantasma (the first Armored Core game to implement an arena mode).

The joke is that Wasp is back and he will kick your pansy ass for playing the stupid PlayStation 2 incarnation of Armored Core...or something like that.
