As much as I don't care for MK8/MK8D, I'll never understand why NCL couldn't just wait for the 6th Booster Course Pass Wave to be released before dropping the Japanese physical complete version.

I'll also never understand why Nintendo UK/NoE/NoA refuse to give western Switch users complete physical versions when you can now get BotW, Splatoon 3 and MK8D in complete physical form in Japan.

I love MK8 but... I don't have another generation of it in me.

MK9 is seven years overdue and everybody knows it.

I will be f--k--g furious if it is overlooked or if MK8/MK8D is re-rehashed come Switch 2.

Yeah, I wouldn't personally buy MK8 again. The last time I really played it in a serious way was WiiU, where I played it to death. I did eventually pick it up for Switch in order to play the DLC, and three starred everything all over again, but kind of lost interest after that and didn't bother much with the online (I played a LOT of the WiiU online, by comparison).

I don't think I actually ended up playing all of the DLC tracks, since I found their quality to be a mixed bag compared to the original set.

With that said, the game is a barnstormer at retail, and unless Nintendo have MK9 lined up for the Switch 2's launch - which I personally doubt they will, I bet it comes out 12-24 months in - then they'd be nuts not to have a third bite of the cherry with a lightly zhuzhed 'complete' edition at launch.

As with GTA 5, it seems to be one of those games with a limitless supply of people who somehow didn't buy it in the last decade. It's number four in the charts this week in the UK.

You think we’re getting MK9 with those sales numbers? Might see it on Switch3 if we’re lucky.

Guess I'm permanently done with Mario Kart if that's the case so I'll be hoping you're wrong about that.

I've wanted this since day 1 of the console, but can fully appreciate why it has taken 7+ years of Nintendo's hardware R&D guys working around the clock to deliver this.

                        The plug is ON TOP?

Yep, 7 years and that’s what they came up with, just for that final Nintendo F YOU!, as always.

Revised joycon stand coming to Switch2, now with the plug hidden on the back, for twice the price.

                          Never change Nintendo.

It's a tease - Switch 2 will be permanently tethered from the top

The popular theory I hear being thrown around is that the JoyCons will be compatible with the Switch 2 but that they won't fit directly to the side of the console, making this the new way they expect you to charge them.

Sounds plausible. Either that or it could just be an oddball accessory they've taken way too long to get out for whatever reason, like that Dualshock 4 backbutton attachment with the screen on it that Sony released, weirdly, at the same time as the PS5 launch.
