The Switch is often a compromise but, accepting that, I usually find it's the best compromise.

Yep, third party games coming to Switch 2 doesn't interest me at all but I think it will be a draw to many because, though the games are old, it's the ability to play them on the go that holds the appeal. The usual view is that people can just buy a Deck etc already if they want to do that but in practice the Deck is a very low selling niche enthusiast device so for most people with a PS5, Xbox or Switch the Switch 2 remains the only way to play newer third party games on the go. That might change when Sony release a true PS handheld but for this gen it seems like Nintendo will benefit from that again. Like pretty much every Nintendo system though, for me it's the exclusives where the appeal will lie.

Even at that, Cyberpunk is a game that can (and should) be played more than once. I'm buying the Switch 2 physical version (our only physical purchase, too, as we fully embrace digital from this generation) because it's one of my favourite games, the whole thing comes on the card, it'll be ultra-dinky playing it handheld - 30fps becomes less noticeable to me the smaller the screen, the box art is nice and the label should look really cool on that red card, and lastly it'll be nice to finally have it on my shelf.
I also think CDPR deserve the sale the way they've supported the game with constant updates - something their main competitors in the field totally neglect time and time again. This game is going to sell quite nicely on the format - they'd be insane to leave that money on the table.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Switch 2's RRP stays the same all generation long.

Plus, there are many households with one or more Switches as the only consoles, so they will have missed out on those games until now.

I'll probably get backlash from this but I just don't see the point of a Switch 2. Maybe because I don't do handheld gaming but even so I can't get excited about a system which is boasting about a 3rd party line up of games that have been out for years on Sony and Microsoft consoles and better at that.

For me, that last great Nintendo console was the SFC / SNES.

I imagine it's probably true that Nintendo are dealing with deliveries themselves to stop early leaks so they'd want their $$$ up front. Still, that's out the way I guess
