    Wild Hearts - PC - PS5 - Series S/X - a Monster Hunter type game from EA/Koei Tecmo

I've only just discovered this game over the weekend and it's out in just 10 days (17th Feb)!

Wild Hearts is basically a hunting game very similar to Monster Hunter. Looks like it has Rise's wirebugs. Along with some interesting building mechanics.

This vid does a great job in showing you what's in store...

EDIT: Actually developed by Omega Force (Dynasty Warriors series). Looks like it very much plays like a MH game though.

So downloaded a 10 hour trial of this via EA Play (free if you Game Pass Ultimate).

Is anyone able to confirm whether what they too are seeing this game running and looking like arse? I mean I'm on Series S, so it could be that. Anyone tried on Series X or PS5?

Honestly looks like one of those poor PS3 ports from back in the day.

I've been watching videos leading up to release and it never looked this bad.

Played it on Series X, huds, and it does run horribly! I had issues with sounds cutting out, lots of graphical anomalies, slowmo running (particularly near the waterfall area), lots of clipping issues when dealing with building your own camp etc. Shame, 'cause I like everything about it but I won't be buying unless it's tidied up, a lot. If anyone is interested in the game I'd recommend watching some footage from your platform of choice as it's apparently bad even on suped up PCs.

edit: Just wanted to mention that trying to play with friends via crossplay didn't work either, kept coming back with network error messages. Random matchmaking with other players worked fine.

Damn, thanks for the feedback. I was hoping the problem would be limited to Series S. Like some poorly optimised shortcut they took, but yeah.. Looking closely at footage from other platforms, it does look sketchy. So glad I didn't pay for this. I was really close to doing so. I will keep my eye on it for now and see if things improve.

Shame about the teething problems, but I've just seen a clip and love the idea of the Dynasty Warriors guys making Monster Hunter game!

This is reviewing pretty well. Certainly looks fun to play. Quite tempted ...

PC players aren't having a great time with it either, it would seem. I would be interested to know which format they issued codes to reviewers for, as it sounds like the PS5 version is the only one which isn't bogged down with issues.

yeah, my thoughts too. The reviews are positive, but all I see is arse. I will pop it on today, maybe there was a patch.

I said I wasn't gonna buy it, but I lied. Been playing nonstop Seems to run a bit smoother on PS5, but it isn't great. Playing online with others, while it works, is like a lucky dip for your performance. At its worst you'll be running around and attacking in slow motion the entire time, but as soon as you go back to offline it's fine.
