Sega Reborn
The Sega Phoenix would be a hybrid console named as a reflection of Sega's rebirth and resurrection as a hardware making giant. Targeted to both casual and core gamers, the hybrid model would allow gamers to take their blue skies gaming out of their homes and on their travels seamlessly.

Power of the Phoenix
With an AMD custom processor and Radeon GPU under the hood, the console would have high compatibility with modern releases. Aided by 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD drive built in. With HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos support, the console base would also contain a 4K Blu Ray drive with the console itself supporting Sega titles from across all of Sega's rich history thanks to dedicated emulation and where necessary physical adapters.

VMU 2.0
Included with each system would be the new VMU 2.0 unit, a small and discreet detachable unit allowing a second player to join in the fun whilst out on the go via its dedicated small scale screen and controls. The system itself would also come boxed with a twin analogue, four face button controller.

A Connected World
Players can share their experiences, whether playing at home or out on the road, via the Sega Network - Sega's new online service offering multiplayer, achievements and cross-play support with the Epic and Steam PC platforms.

New Experiences, Old Names
Launching and supported over its life by Sega's rich history of properties and exclusives, players could look forward to Sonic, Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio and Phantasy Star Online along with new third party releases launched via new partnerships struck with popular names in gaming.


With a recommended retail price of $499.99 the Sega Phoenix is the image of what Sega's best concept is said to be for a new console.

That sounds like the doomed Atari vcs pc hybrid thing and a steam deck rolled into one. Sega at least has a rich back catalogue to dip into (some old 2600 games and a few ancient arcade ports where never going to win over the masses), Sega branding and a gamepass type service that gives you access to the best Sega stuff going all the way back to the master system could work think EA Play but with Yakuza and sonic game.
