2D Fighting Characters

Who'd win in a big scrap? Who do you think has the widest and most effective range of moves? And more importantly, who looks the coolest?

I reckon it's gotta be teh Terry Bogard. Rising Tackle > Dragon Punch due to multiple hits. QCB+K pwns from afar, as does QCB+P. FCF+K rawks too.

Akuma would be in with a good chance, the sheer amount of special moves he has means in a skilled players hands he can normally get himself out of any situation.

mid-air fireballs, ground fireballs, 3x fireballs, step-outs, teleports and 'that' special ending move which wipes our a full health bar in total darkness.

Another suggestion (and probably a bit out of the ordinary) would be Balrog (Vega outside of Asia) - he looks a bit girly, but he?s fast - has strong standard hits and a rather decent set of special moves.

Compared to the bladed slow-coaches from Samurai Showdown :P

One of my favourite characters from the SF Alpha/Zero series, Guy!!
The ninja dude. Looks cool and can take on anyone on a good day. I also like Iori and Yamazaki from the KOF series. Great character designs.

Cant beleive no one has mentioned the baddest character of them all GEESE HOWARD

Akuma , Geese could destroy Akuma just by looking at him

*Geese has singular ground firball and double strike fireball

*Air fireball

*Rushing elbow strikes| double air palm

*Has high priority HP and HK attacks

*Mid/low/high counters that can stop ALL Strike moves moves/supers

*A 13 hit manual super combo which absolute can wipeout a full energy bar to almost nothing

*and of course the RAGING STORM 8)

I have loads of favourites 2d Fighters, too many to list here, as otherwise i would be hijacking this thread . But i particularly think Shingo Yabuki and Dan Hibiki are to feared! YES even Dan Hibiki can lay some serious damage to anyone who thinks they have an easy match...
