I've bought Ridge Racer 6 from the US digitally. It won't boot if my console is set to the UK as it's de-listed here but if I change my region to US it works fine.

I would figure you'd have to do the same. If it doesn't work set the console to US to match the US disc being inserted.

Interesting! I bought a game called Split/Second a few years ago but it doesn’t run on my JP Xbox. Other UK games I bought are fine. I might try changing the console region and seeing what happens.

Xbox support says this:

Some content and apps may not be available or accessible in some locations. If your console is set to a different location than the one that you live in, you may be able to download and install an app from a different market, but you may not be able to use it. That app may be geo-fenced (restricted by physical location, not the console setting) and may prevent you from playing content from another country or region.

Maybe that’s why this particular game didn’t work for me whereas some other games play just fine, despite not being on the JP store.

Yeah that'll do it... when you boot the game up it does some permission checks on the back end so if it is de-listed it just fails that and won't boot. Obviously if the game exists in both regions you have no issue.

Give it a whirl, it should work.

It also looks like they've delayed how quickly you can get points for searches, by putting a cooldown period between them. Starting to get to the point where it's not worth it anymore.

For the PC search thing it was never meant to be something you did all in one go but a bonus for using Bing I can kind of see why they would change it so your rewarded for staying with Bing as your default on mobile and on PC. It stops you opening a bookmark folder with 90 bing searches then switching back to google.

I think my account has been restricted anyway i tired redeeming for a amazon voucher this week and it failed at the point before confirmation saying their was a problem with my account. gonna try again at some point but not holding out hope, one silver lining is those that have been restricted are still able to redeem for MS Vouchers.

Why would anyone actually use Bing for search results?

It's not as if its worse than any others i search for stuff i find it, In Google if I'm searching for a company i often see an advert for their main competitor first or a list of products from a competitors site, because they paid more money to google to make themselves appear under that keyword.

Yup, 4 category's been cut down to 1 point each, I'm confused as to why they have not just removed them with the cull instead of making them 1 point rewards.

According to my Rewards page I'll tap out of November with around 23,000 points. I got the 100 week bonus a week ago so with that being nerfed and the 100 per week on Xbox app that would lock in an avg of 20,000 per month. Still feels like more nerfs are coming, I'm going to carry on broadly as it's still a free month of GPU per month plus change as things stand but they're definitely trying to hit some sort of magic figure and this has all been since they added more markets to the Rewards programme. Feels like not too much thought has gone into the difference between 20 markets engaging with your programme or 100 markets all thinking it's a waste of time. I'm definitely expecting a shake up next week when the December month begins for it.

Maybe the new markets have had better engagement than they expected so they have had to nerf across the board, they will have a budget to keep it too and with all the heavy nerfs it feels like their trying to balance it out.

Well they already said it was changing at the end of this month so I am really just waiting to see what the new standard is when the dust settles. Even if it isn't half as lucrative as before every little bit helps and I'll just keep it ticking over in the background.

If it takes longer than 2 minutes, it's too much effort. With the gimping of search, it now takes longer than 2 minutes and isn't worth it for less than £5-10 a month.
