That tweet has been deleted what was it about?
And actually wondered with PC gaming past few years noticed Hardrives affecting performance on many games, for a while i would have little freezes and what i thought was stutter but as soon as i installed the games on the SSD the performance of the games is much better....which i guess makes sense for modern games but seems to have fixed the same sort of issues i was getting even in older games like Grim dawn and Dragonball fighterz

CAPCOM had decided to retroactively add another layer of DRM that had major impacts on performance (10-15%) to their old titles and would have had implications for all systems, but particularly on Steamdeck titles that had just reached certified status.
Crappy move, and hopefully if they've deleted the tweet, they've decided the backlash wasn't worth it, given it would only have impacted paying customers.

Emulation is the only way fans of gaming will ever be able to play games released 10+ rolling years in the past.
Game Publishers don’t want to preserve or allow honest paying customers to enjoy games, they just want to monetise and restrict each title. **** em. I’ll gladly pay money for all new games, after the console is no longer produced I’ll emulate what the **** I want. Because it’s been proved the developers and publishers can’t do right, ever.
As others have said, the honest customers always get shafted. Reminds me of 4K Blu Ray, I have to sit through minutes of anti piracy messages and adverts and finally the film starts. The pirates get to see it as the creators intended, I’ve paid £30 and have to be told not to pirate…

Now I have all of the games I want from previous Nintendo consoles on my steam deck, playable anytime with save states, rewind, cheats, graphical enhancements, mods, more stable frame rates, online multiplayer and more

The absence of the excellent Heroine's Quest from that list caught my eye so it's worth cross-referencing this other one:
Download the best classic and new games on Windows, Mac & Linux. A vast selection of titles, DRM-free, with free goodies and 30-day money-back guarantee.
It'd be more helpful if there was a way to filter out the demos...

Enigma DRM breaks MH:Rise on Steam Deck
****e that. I updated mine this morning and it's running ok, but I'm running in Desktop Mode. Wonder if it's just for Game mode launching?

Capcom have responded with a fix.
Originally posted by EurogamerUPDATE 23/01/24: Capcom has updated Monster Hunter Rise on Steam to ensure Steam Deck compatibility.
The latest patch notes for ver.16.0.2.0 have now been amended. "We have released a patch that addresses the issue of the game not running on Steam Deck after installing update Ver.16.0.2.0," reads the update. "We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."

They don't need to put it in there in the first place - then there'd be nothing to test and it wouldn't be tanking performance by as much as 15%.
Steam should be offering refunds for titles that add DRM post-release, regardless of play time.
There's already a crack that removes the DRM available, so what was the point?
Crapcom are just making me want to pirate their games, those versions have less malware. The only people DRM affects are people paying for the games, and if they can't play them without issue, they're not going to buy them.Last edited by MartyG; 23-01-2024, 16:59.
