These are halo products though. The 4090 TDP is the same at the 3090 Ti, but the performance is monstrous in comparison, so it is significantly better in performance per watt compared to the previous gen. Transients are far better controlled too.

I'm not sure power consumption is the primary concern with that level of product.

2.5% of a game's self-reported monthly gross revenue after crossing $1 mil revenue - ha, so they've talked themselves into giving Unity more money, especially those titles that make most of their revenue via microtransactions. Trouble is, now if they complain, it's just going to look like they simply don't want to pay at all. Deal looks better than UE even so, as it's a rolling revenue (and commercial tier licenses only).

Also, I tried GeForce Now again to see if it'd improved. Queue of 350 people, took over two hours to get on to a VM and controller lag meant I was half a second slower than I was on the local, was limited to 1080P, 60FPS and way slower loading, compared to 4K and 180FPS. It was better than XCloud though, controller lag on that meant I was over a second slower and you could definitely feel the difference (Grid Legend was the game, as I know controller lag shows up more in racers).

That said, GeForce Now wasn't completely awful, I'd say the controller lag was comparable to Stadia, but I still wouldn't want it as a primary source of gaming. It was running on an Intel CPU with a RTX 2080 (this was on the free tier), seems like a bit of a strange choice of card. Perhaps they had loads left over.

I can see local is better as you get to start at 10th and not 11th...

No, the accelerator reacts to input faster due to input lag on cloud streaming. I started in 10th in all of them.

Seems like a way to undo all your good work - better just to accept that some people will never pay for your stuff than come across like an ass.

It's like they never learn from the good/bad examples that others set.

Even when your mods remain free, acting like an asshole never goes down well. See also Arthmoor within the Skyrim modding community,

Some of these guys make good money with a simple donations box. Keep putting out good mods and the money will trickle in.

I don't have a particular issue with him charging for some of his mods, but then coming in with the - well I'm going to put code bombs in it - stuff isn't good form. You put code bombs in your work, chances are it's going to blow up for people who pay for it too, say a game update changes the interaction, or another mod behaves badly with it.

When that happens, any support you have garnered will quickly evaporate - it's just not a sensible thing to do.

He put out DLSS support within days of the game’s release when the devs refused to do so. Just pay him for the mod and stop being cheap.

I think it was more a case of Starfield being an AMD partnership.
I don't object to a tip jar mentality when it comes to some mods.

Apparently AMD was chill about adding DLSS as well.

They're apparently chill now after a lot of backlash about it.

There's also no indication they stopped Bethesda to implement DLSS before launch despite the partnership either, just the internet taking up pitchforks
