    Good girl!

Comparing Evo to SC2 is like comparing chocolate to ****. Had some good challenges yesterday - that other SC2 lady Himura Kaji came round last night and felt the full force of Akiranomics.

Yup, one and the same (I used to have this Miyagi avatar over on VFDC as well), how is Sidez doing?
    He's still good - [hint]but should practise MORE and bring t3h challenge![/hint]

I'm sure Mr Miyagi is some 16 year old girl's sugar daddy, he's a playa!

I'm gonna try and get on Kaillera with Kawaks on the Wise server. If I see any of you on there I'd be up for a challenge. Just started playing SSF2X and what's been said about playing 1 player on that game is all true!

Help plz all Quality VF players I use Lion and keep gettin beat by ****ty button bashing hall mates, any tips? I know most of his moves n stuff but they just punch and i can't get in a throw. I am sick of them saying i'm complete ****e n want to improve desperatly. On VF moving out the way does not seem to help or is it just me, u move then they turn n punch. P.S got my ass kicked in Japan as well, so it aint just button bashers i get beat by. I have got to get better quickly n have to go to my mates to play him as hes better soon. I can also read Katakana n Hiragana if u think trainning helps.

The training mode does help a lot in Evo. (Which could be a problem if you're playing the JPN ver.) It would be best to learn over characters' guaranteed throw and hit situations so that you can get some solid hits in on them. Plain side stepping won't working in VF as you will HAVE to do something, otherwise you get hit or thrown even. It would be best to evade and hit or block against a newbie but as you get better you'll have to think about throw escaping whiles you dodge as well. Just basically concentrate more on those 'Tutorial' and 'Tactics & Advise' first as only learning all the move of your character isn't going to get you anywhere in VF.

MrDark's advice is much better than what I'm about to say, and is the way to go if you want to make a start on being a good vf player.

However ... if you want some specific advice on how to beat folks that continue to button bash then here are some quick tips.

Don't throw. Throwing just does not work on a pure masher at all. (outside of guaranteeed throw situations) If they keep spamming attacks then your throw will lose every time.

Use fast uncounterable moves to keep the advantage. If they just spam attacks then you will interrupt them all day long. Single high jabs are best for this if they like to stand. If they're prone to crouching use elbows or side kicks to gain staggers.

Learn some really simple flow charts. Low punch --> Rising Upper for example will kill a masher over and over if he just keeps trying to attack you after the low punch hits them. Eventually (hopefully) they'll start to wise up and guard. Now you do Low punch --> throw.

That's just some basic advice for dealing with someone who attacks more than they should and doesn't guard enough, but really I'd heavily advise use of evo's training mode. It's by far the most informative training mdoe in any fighting game ever, adn really does give you all the tools and information you need to become a solid player.
