    I love my new console!

This may be quite boring for most people but I thought I?d share my views on my new console.

First things first I have spent the last 2 years getting increasingly bored with gaming. I have a NES, megadrive, SNES, N64, Dreamcast, GBA and a Saturn. I have loads of games too but none interested me any more, a quick go on this, a race of that, nothing could hold my attention for long enough.

I hadn?t bought a ps2 until now because none of the games interested me, besides I had lots of other games to play, right? I am not a sony hating fan boy though; I got a Playstation on release many years ago but I just didn?t really want one.

One week ago I bought a used chipped ps2 from will2003 and my passion has returned, it is amazing. GTAVC, Disgaea, Secret weapons over normandy, initial d, VF4evo, I cant get enough of it, I love it, and now all my other consoles are in a wardrobe.

I was late to the show too - but when Psyvariar came out I had to get a modded PS2 off Will, it's a wicked machine. Loving Evo, Bujingai and SF2 anniversary edition TOO MUCH!

I have a modded PS2 aswell and I think it's great. There's a lot of people who knock the machine, presumably because it's popular, but I love it.
The Eye Toy is currently my fave, I recommend picking one up as it's great fun and actually an affordable peripheral.

It should become an illegal offense to own a PS2 and not play it.

                Prince of Persia.

                NOW!

Ignore the combat bits, think of them as loading screens for the superb platformer sections.

                Damn addictive.

Waiting to play ICO, Gregory Horror Show, Burnout 2 and got Siren coming on import....but I am determined not to play all the games at once, to save them and savour them properly.

ALso got Indycar series which is absolutly hard as nails but very very good.

I really must add i cant believe i have waited this long to get a ps2 but now I am really enjoying it. It wasnt out of stubourness that i didnt have one, just on release there were no games i wanted although RRV is great and then i just didnt bother really, now it's great.

Also have WE7 and I patched it this weekend and i cant believe what they have done with the translation (fernandos) the only problem is the drive makes more noise using my patched copy than using the original which makes me a bit worried.

I really bought it to play virtua racing though

I personally founf DMC 1 &2 to similar to REs Evil for my liking. I just think its the same basic game with different/better graphics.

                        Anyone else feel like this

Well yes, they are pretty much the same.

For me, Biohazard, DMC and Onimusha all fall into the same category. All different styles of survival horror but still in the same genre.

To think I've had a PS2 all this time and haven't even played ICO yet. What is the game actually like? I need someone to tempt me in buying it!

BTW oracle, one thing I dislike about using patched games/CDRs is that it really isn't good for your machine. My PS2 makes absolutely no noise at all with originals, and Im going to keep it that way. Wouldn't want to see my drive get ****ed from a patched WE7.

Before I got a chipped PS2 I really disliked the console. Most of the games seemed really generic and dull, and a number of the conversions were really poor. But when you get it chipped it is like owning a completely new console. The variety of games on offer is staggering at times and you get to play games without massive borders. Out of all the consoles this generation it is the one that gets the most use by a long way.
