    Alias The Game.

Technically, I wanted to put this into the First Play forum, but as it's not out yet, hopefully it'll be OK in here.

Anyway, you can take a gander so far: www.aliasthegame.com - this MGS-alike game is being made by Acclaim Cheltenham, and despite Alias Season 2's 'making of' confirming that it does look slightly generic beyond the split-screen hide and seeking, I'm really hoping the 'Alias vibe' of sneaking around cleverly Bond-like makes it through into the gameplay and level design.

Apart from that, though, being a HUGE fan of the show I'm excited that the creators and writers of Alias have actually written the story and script, that the actors have voiced their own characters, that Michael Giacchino (of Medal of Honor fame) is doing the music and that, ahem, the costume designers told Acclaim's texture artists and modellers what to do.
Can't wait for this, personally, up there with Half-Life and Halo's sequels on my most wanted (in April?) list.

And no, I don't work for Acclaim.

OK, I'm a sad git, and I just went to the official site and got this info from the 'facts and tips' they randomly throw around the website:

The game takes place between episodes 19 and 20 of season two.
Thermal vision allows Syd to spot guards in shadows.
Enhanced vision highlights guards and displays camera sight cones.
Throwing enemies against the walls and desks does them lots of damage.
Syd is quieter when wearing her stealth suit.
All the main actors from the TV show supplied their voices for the game.
The Museum guards have the face of Bryan Burk, producer on the TV show.
Don't wait for guards to get to their feet, kick them when they're down.
Guns and makeshift weapons do more damage.
You can avoid guards by hiding under some big objects like ambulances.
The in-game costumes were created by the TV show's wardrobe mistress.
Ambient characters, like the casino guests, may disclose hints and tips if you talk to them.
A suspicious guard will give up their investigations if they don't find anything.
The character Dr. Caplan was created especially for the game and then included in the TV show.
Use the split-screen views to ensure you don't get taken by surprise.
Throwing objects around makes noise which can distract guards from their regular patrols.
Over 1200 different moves were motion captured for the game.
Counter attacks are all about getting the timing right.
The music in the game changes according the pace of the current situation.
Thermal vision allows Syd to pick up the trail of Anna Espinosa.
Different guards have different mixtures of how much they block, attack and counter-attack.
Guards can be kicked over banisters, off the edges of buildings and down the stairs.
Sark's driver in the Casino has the face of Jesse Alexander, producer on the TV show.
You can hide from guards by hanging from the pipes on the ceiling.
Any weapons have a limited life span - use them wisely.
Syd can hide in shadowed areas but only when wearing her stealth suit.
Syd is quieter when wearing her stealth suit.
Syd can throw guards as well as punch, kick and shoot them.
There are 72 minutes of original score by Alias TV show composer Michael Giacchino.
One of the Cult of Rambaldi followers has the face of JJ Abrams, creator of the TV show.
Guards find a moving target harder to shoot.

I was interested until I found out that Acclaim was making it and that its a licensed game and that it wasn't called Sydney Bristow XXX.

Indeed, it being an Acclaim title immediatly dampens my enthusiasm somewhat, although I am wishing for a strong title due to the sheer potential offered by the licence.

Knowing Acclaim tho they'll start an advertising campaign offering cash rewards to criminals who have the most 'aliases', such rewards will be delivered by two scantily clad porn queens and a man who can fit nine billiard balls into his mouth.

I have one official alias on my passport, real fun going through America at the mo at least i dont look like an arab...

Syd can hide in shadowed areas but only when wearing her stealth suit.
Syd is quieter when wearing her stealth suit.
This is a real pity. Syd manages to sneak about happily in high-heels, and lurks in shadows wearing sparkly frontless-backless-sideless-lowcut-highhemmed dresses all the time on the show! Maybe wearing (i'm guessing) ultra slinky non-stealth suit items gives some other bonus like super peanut smuggling or some such?

Unless there was already a decent sneaking game being developed, and they nicked the rights, i dont see a licensed TV/movie game being all that great. Please prove me wrong, but from past experiences...

And Zed, I know, and I too hope it's not a generic game (gameplay-wise it's meant to be near to Splinter Cell so it may not be all that bad), but the officialness of it all, especially having PROFESSIONAL WRITERS actually write a game story/script just... makes me feel warm inside.

The actual 'game' has been in production for years under various guises.
Acclaim snapped up the chance to stick this faggy license on it and there you go. Typical Acclaim.
