    Gamesplaying seasonally adjusted?

Does anyone else here find themselves going through phases with there consoles and pcs?
Not just when a new game arrives but a complete phase. Ive just noticed that although my X Box dominates my time there is no balance with my other consoles, I may go through a Cube phase for a couple of weeks, then the sp gets a run out and maybe even a few weeks of pc gaming, even the PS2 but i never play more than one a day, is this normal amongst gamers, or am I the fickle so and so my missus thinks i am.

I used to love my PS2 so much... That was well and truly a Sony phase... closely following that there was an Xbox phase (that lasted for months)... and probably still going on... for co-op/mulitplayer anyway.... which is the majority of my gaming.

However after a long search for Rez on Dreamcast (at a reasonable price) I gave in... and I am now getting the PS2 version for Valentines.... and I had an eye-toy for my birthday last month... so maybe there will be another Playstation phase... (actually I'm playing Half Life on Ps2 too!)

So yep, a PS2 phase definately ahead.... apart from Baldurs Gate 2 on xbox.... and did i mention Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast... oh yeah, and then theres Yoshi's Island on GBA... apart from that, quite clearly a PS2 phase.

strangely enough, this year has started out exactly like last year in regard to console useage for me.
a little gamecube time at first, then xbox constantly.
ps2 has hardly had a look in so far.

if things are going to continue the same as last year, the xbox will dominate till summer, when one ps2 game will suddenly become the only thing i touch, with the gamecube becoming the greatest thing ever for the last 3-4 months.

I seem to go through the same kinda phase's...

          PS2>pc>xb>gc>ps2 .. round and round....

Also seem to find myself going back to a few old titles that i never got around to playing aswell... Like Rainbow 6, which is near completion...

Actually I reserved the very next copy they would get in at Another World.... but i reserved it back in November last year.... they said they had just sold a copy but that they don't get them in much any more... I'm on the system and everything... but nothing... I've asked everywhere... so i gave in.

That last copy they sold... back in November.... hmmm.....

Still I have a PS2 version waiting for me, just down-stairs... as a Valentines prezzie... just left on a table... it is ace!! I mean... it would be, had i tried it early... but obviously i haven't.

            Hence my current PS2 phase...

I usually find that if I procure a particularly fine title on a console like, say, the PS2, which I usually neglect if I'm honest, then my enthusiasm for that game will flow over into thinking about other titles exclusive to the machine that I have yet to play or complete.

Or, on the other hand, there's sometimes just a huge glut of quality for one particular console. The GC for instance looks like it's going to have a very nice year.

Yes, DC version sounds better than the PS2 one.
                    Compare...

I noticed someone posted the PS2 version audio directly from the optical out. I had a listen and was kinda shocked at how much worse it sounds. The real time synths are way off, a lot of the reverbs and DSP effects have been cut and the sample volume balances are kinda flat.
                    PS2

So I recorded what it sounds like right off a DC and put it on my webspace.
                    Dreamcast

Sorry about the hiss, nasty sound card...

Not that this matters. It's just myself and Smeg have long argued against some PS2 fanboys that the DC version does indeed sound best out of the two. We're tired of all the fanboys completely rubbishing the Dreamcast version without even knowing what they're talking about. Both versions are still great fun ^_^

Well I have both and to my hears the crisp, clear optical PS2 sound is better, and more importantly louder than the DC.

That's odd. To me it sounds quieter and muffled :/

would people here view it to be wrong if you had a pirated dc version if you owned a legit ps2 version of the game?
