i got it from toysrus with timesplitters two, both for 18 quid with a free 3rd party pad I havent booted it up yet, but it sounds a tincy bit like hitman with the whole knowing location of stuff / learning game logic several times and having to die in the process, is it like that? hitman is madly frustrating.

I've now got to the second level and have discovered something else that's really annoying; lights that give no indication that they can't actually be shot until you shoot them.

I know some have metallic casings on them, but these look like normal lights. Needless to say, the noise they make alerts the guards and I get killed. ****ing game ft:

Well, between this game and POP, I fail to understand why Ubi is suddenly the "dahling" of the press and gamers around the world. And don't quote Far Cry at me, that superb game is only being published by Ubisoft, and no one ever gave kudos to a publisher for picking up a title that would sell well anyway. Nor should they. No one ever says, "Congrats EA, you decided to make a smart business move"

Splinter Cell sucked major balls. I would go further in my analysis, but like Prime, I could write reams and reams of valid criticism but no one would read it. I completed it, I thought about it for a while, as I do with all completed games, and I came to that conclusion.

SC2 could be good. Or it could be bad. I'm hoping the addition of a multiplayer element will have totally galvanised the singleplayer mode, since I do not have Live, nor can I afford the prerequisites for Live.

EDIT: Oh and cheers Strider, the General Gaming forum has been incredibly lackluster recently. Thank you for helping to improve it.

I'd certainly slap your balls about Prime if you would like to create a topic on the matter? I'm curious what ya' have to say about it tbh.

I'm tempted to, but I have gone into it other times on lots of occasions, and I don't think it would help if I lapsed back into my multiple screen posts habit again. I don't want to end up sounding like a broken record.

And besides, if I go down the route, you'd all start hearing my opinions on KotOR and VJ. And Ratchet and Clank. As well as Shenmue II. And TWW. And FFX And a few other lauded 2002 and 2003 games. And I don't think you want to hear my opinions on those. There would be far too much bile spewing from my lips.

I have recently come to the conclusion that my tastes are, for the most part, completely different from everyone else.

After all, everyone else seemed to hate Phantom Crash, Aggressive Inline, Billy Hatcher, Super Mario Sunshine. Oh and DOAXBV. But then again, no one got the point of them. Similarly, I didn't get the point of Shenmue II considering I bought it when I was a warehouseman.

I loathe it. Lots and lots of things about it pissed me off. MGS2 is far better.

Hated it. Way way waaaay too unforgiving.

Oh, you stepped on the wrong pixel, back to your last save game you go...

At least if you alerted the guards in MGS you could still sometimes fight your way out and escape. Less realistic, but a truckload more fun.

Just had my cousin around who's completed the Xbox version and he reckons that the techniques you use are markedly different.

for example, on the second level where the guard spits in the general's sandwich, Sam enters via a window. On the Cube version, he enters via a ventilation shaft and starts off in the freezer.

I actually tried using a guide for Splinter Cell (it came free with a mag ((honest) and it still infuriated at every turn. I really wanted to like it too.

An abject lesson in design over playability and even more frustrating than Chakan The Forever Man, Give it up Daz!

I liked it but it was far from perfect and the difficulty fluctuated without warning throughout the game.

The sequel looks promising though, I love what they are attempting with the online multiplayer aspect. If they pull it off successfully it should be excellent and completely different to whats currently available over XBL, which is either racing or FPS etc...

Played some more of this last night and I still can't get off the second level ft:

I think I'm gonna give up for a second time and revert to Resi Evil remake on the Cube. Mmmmm, Zombies
