It's still better than the pad, but unless they're gonna bring out a proper gun I don't even know why Konami bothers releasing home versions. The Dreamcast one was so poor with the pad.

yeah, DC Silent Scope is really good fun with a mouse. I recently bought a ps/2 adaptor too, optical mice are so much better.

No it wasn't. It's still one of my favourite Dreamcast games.

Complete on the other hand... Hmmm... Silent Scope is as good as ever. But Silent Scope 2 is blatently average. The original mode in Silent Scope 3 is disappointing too. I still haven't tried Ex yet, but I liked it in the arcade, so I hope I won't be let down.

The graphics in 2 & 3 are really bad tho. 1st generation PS2 level.

Regarding playing with a standard lightgun, I find it difficult to get a steady aim. I'm guessing this is cos of the lack of a stock. Maybe I just need more practice tho?

No matter if it makes the game more fun to play, its got next to no replayablity, so youre a bit simple if you shell out so much money for it to sit redundant (and such a horrible colour) for a couple of hours at the most.

Dunno. I reckon I got at least 25 hours out of Silent Scope on the Dreamcast. Of course, I'm never going to play Complete for that kind of time, so you'd be right if I bought the rifle now. But I do think you're overly dismissive of the game.
