I agree, it's seriously overrated and I've still not been able to work out the appeal. I've only played part 1 but it was an awful experience, only raised to a bearable level by the absolutely hilarious english dubbing. I kept playing just to find out how many times Ryo could say "I see." before he actually fell asleep.

Oh why oh why must this thread have been started?
I too have Shenmue 2 for the Dreamcast and thoroughly loved the first installment. It took me months to get Shenmue 2 (i admit i wasn't too motivated in actually looking for it but when i did find it in my local store i was over the moon) but when i started to play it and just didn't feel compelled to keep playing and now..... i've been itching to play it through.
The problem... i'm in Hong Kong and my dreamcast is still in the UK. I can't ask my parents to ship the thing over because i've already had my gamecube shipped over and recently forked out some cash i was meant to spend on clothes on getting a ceramic white ps2 with gt4 prologue. Ah well i'll just have to wait...... oh the waiting... if someone lives in HK and has it PLEASE PLEASE find me!

*rocks back and forth thinking about how he know wants to play the game set in HK whilst in HK*

Yeh check out the Dojo. They hack the Shenmue games to mess about but they also find hidden stuff like textures or levels not used in the game. They help to give clues as to hopefully what will happen in the next installment. 8)

I'm optimistic about Shenmue 3 being released this generation, after all, if you point your browser here: www.shenmue.com , the closed for-almost-ever english section is now open!

There's not much to see, but it can only be a good sign right?
