I'm going to update more impressions on the original Panzer Dragoon (as found in Orta) at some point tomorrow.

If you feel I'm hijacking your thread then I don't mind posting a brief synopsis of non-spoiler thoughts and impressions of the series in here.

Thats fine, i'll have a read of that other thread, i was just trying to figure out whether the first was worth ?7.99 for the first and ?9.99 for the second cause those are the prices gamestation are currently quoting. They also have saga for ?60 if anyones interested...

If you haven't played through Panzer Dragoon Saga before, then I urge you to.

You're gaming life is incomplete until you do.

What about the first 2 tho, are they worth the money?

If you like on-rail shooters, then yes, they are worth your money.

You should be able to pick Panzer Dragoon up for ?10-15, and Panzer Dragoon Zwei for around ?20 at most.

I don't think Panzer Dragoon is quite as polished as its sequel, and neither is it quite as deep in terms of gameplay or length.

Atmospherically and artisitically, both games have something to offer. In terms of locales the first game probably has more in comparison to Saga. When it comes to gameplay, Zwei is practically a scaled down version of Orta, and if you've already enjoyed the later game, then I recommend you track the former down.

Some would argue it's more atmospheric and has better music, if not quite the variety of gameplay or replayability of Orta.

Really, each of the games are recommended. Of course, I don't know you're personal preferences with regards to style of fantasy, so the whole feel, look and imagination of the Panzer universe may be lost on you.

And really, that's a huge part of the pull. The series has got such an absorbing, compelling world. If you fall under it's spell, then you'll probably treat the fact that all the Panzer games play great as a huge, and significant piece of icing on an already lush cake.

The first PD is not a bad game. It isn't as good as I remember it to be but still perfectly playable. Unfortunately I am having a clear out of a few Saturn titles and PD is one of them (you can see the sales in my sig ).
