    Which Street Fighter 2 game...

Is the toughest and which would you say is the best?
inspired by the fact i just bought special champ edition on the mega drive for 99p. I've never owned any of the mega drive games, i've always had the snes ones, namely turbo and super.

And i cant help but notice the little differences like in musical score etc...and the fact i'm getting whipped on this version.

So what are other peoples opinions?

Hardest against the CPU? SSF2 Turbo. Best? SF3: Third Strike. IMO.

I like arcade Super SF2 because it looks so lush and the extra characters/stages are a nice addition.

I've never been a huge fan of the turbo settings. Playing a game on fast forward has never appealed much. I never liked the speed of the Alpha games much either.

Street Fighter 3 is my favourite of the new series. It has the nice slow pace of the original and solid technical play that doesn't depend on learning reams of combo's. The parrying is ace too.

        retro streetfighter...hmm

i guess turbo is best, but the inclusion of cammy in super makes that one my favourite.
Turbo is the hardest i would say, especially if you crank up the speed as far as poss...didnt you have to put in a code to get 8 speeds on snes, or am i thinking of something else?
(not including Zero or 3rd strike they're not retro yet)

Yeah you did have to put a code in on turbo. They only level i couldnt do on that was ryu on 10 star turbo 8 star difficulty. But i'm finding the mega drive version a lot harder

US Arcade Super turbo on level 8 was by far the hardest SF'er I've ever played. US level 1 is equivalent to JAP level 4 coz Capcom US really wanted to milk the fans at the time.

Played the 3 SNES versions (SF2, SF2T, SSF2) and have to say that SF2T was always my fave. I think they got the speed and the AI perfect in that iteration.

Didn't know SF Alpha/Zero 2 was released on SNES. Learn something every day. Thanks for the offer, but I am fairly happy with my Japanese SNES collection at the moment. Can't bloody afford any retro stuff at the moment anyway because my comp packed in.

Came out about the same time Super Mario RPG did in the US. I remember being on holiday over there at the time and buying both together from a games shop. Hmmm when was it... Xmas 96 I think...

Reason for having a spare is I just got a copy of the Jap version from someone on here. Hence said US copy is now surplus to requirements
