Molloy's just triggered a good question for a debate...
Do you think that a programming team (say Polyphony) that have established themselves as masters of a genre, change to a completley new genre OR write another game in the same (or relevent too that) genre??
When they did they're 3D robot game (forgot name!) it was a decent shooter, if on rails.
Sega's AM2 division would be another example, but are they always successful? Having played King of Route 66, i think not (although arcade games are never translate well at home).
