yeah, we still have ninja gaiden to look forward to from tecmo as well.

I really want to buy DOAX, but I'm worried what the spotty game staff will make of me.

the only way i got away with buying it was buying it from a game where i knew the staff personally and made a casual joke as i brought it to the counter.

I just bought it this afternoon.

To be honest though it never even crossed my mind what the bloke behind the counter at Game thought. 8)

        I have no shame.

I havent played either Rygar or Project Zero, but DOAXBV was one of the more pleasant and surprisingly refreshinig titles of the last year, so kudos to Tecmo for that. The real killer app for me looks set to be Ninja Gaiden however.

Rygar is a decent game. Far better than the recent trash called Devil May Cry 2, although it doesn't surpass the original.

While I disagree with Temco deserving the Developer of the Year award, I thought this thread would highlight that they have released three good games this year, and that they haven't been a one trick pony with XVB.

"Good solid games" doesn't makes them the developer of the year though. Better than Nintendo, Capcom and Sega? Hardly. Rygar's nothing amazing (On the same level as DMC2) and I don't think Project Zero was better than Resident Evil Zero, even if was more creative.

Edge's main focus with the award was on DOAXB and I still find it odd that they can gush so much over this title, while picking on other games for the most ridiculous reasons.

                  first off - its TECMO

now onto the important stuff - Rygar is better than Devil May Cry 2, its also better than the 2 other old-school games which were upgraded to ps2 at the same time as it, namely Shinobi and Contra - Tecmo captured perfectly the old Rygar feel and transferred it to the next gen

Fatal Frame (Project Zero) is the best horror title released in the last few years --- the story is exemplary and the game is actually scary rather than just being an action adventure with a few added shocks. it adds a lot to the horror genre in its use of pacing and atmosphere.

DOA XVB does perfectly what it set out to do - its not the greatest volleyball simulator but it doesn't set out to be, its a tittilation simulator for fans for the dead or alive franchise

I personally hate DOAX haven't played Rygar, but Fatal Frame is certainly well worth checking out.

Even if it is far too scary to play.
