Don't bother. Save it for GameFaqs or something.

      OoT.....PS1???
I dont think OoT has suffered all that much with the passage of time, or ocarinas.
It still looks good to me, one of the best (graphically) games on the N64 ever for goodness sake.
Assuming you own the cartridge and Nintendo will allow you why not run OoT on something like Project64, nip out to Hyrule field, and switch to wireframe mode. There IS a lot of polys. Admittedly the textures are a wee bit lacking but it's nearly ten years old!!!

I will not hear another word against OoT.

      Sheesh!

I have to say I do see lostn's point (although it was pretty badly worded).

I actually think almost all n64 games look really terrible now, almost to the point where it is difficult to play them.

The frame rate and resolution of OOT is very poor and you almost have to squint to make it out properly, especially if you are playing on a big TV.

I suppose they have aged like this because 3d graphics have moved on so much, in just the same way that NES games have aged much worse than SNES games. Put on any SNES game and it looks as good today as it did when you first played it, but the same just cannot be said for all N64 games (and PSone for that matter).

In fact the only PSone game I havent turned on recently and though that of is Vib Ribbon (due entirely to its lovely styling).

I was genuinely shocked when I recently played OOT. I have also recently bought Sin & Punishment, which at the time it came out must have looked stunning but now also suffers from the low resolution and grainy textures.

This isnt to detract from the games at all, OOT is still just as good of a game as it was then (although it has never been anywhere near my favourite Zelda), but it has aged terribly in the graphics department.

What's the biggest Zelda in terms of average time to finish. I fair whisked through WW and remember LTTP being quite long, but I have never finished OoT. I'm still cracking on 6 years later on the Gamecube version

At the shadow temple at the moment BTW.

OOT, WW and MM are all considerably longer than LTTP.

In fact LTTP is suprisingly short, I would guess it would take no more than 8-10 hours first time though.

I recently re-completed it for only the second time ever (the first time was when it first came out) and I remembered very little about the game, but it only took me 4 hours from start to finish - I couldnt believe it!

Aye, I think OoT is the longest Zelda. Some temples require nearly an hour to get through them (probably longer later on), and there's absolutely LOADS of stuff to do in-between the temples. Add to that loads of side-quests, and you've got a damn long game.

OoT still looks alright, especially the remade GC one in higher-res. You just need an RGB'ed N64 though :P

When I last replayed Majora's Mask, I was genuinely surprised at how well it stood up today.

Mario 64 has also aged very well in my opinon.

N64 games look so much better if you have an RGB modded NTSC N64. It brings your whole collection back to life .

I do agree about Mario 64, I think that has aged better than just about any other N64 game.

I put this down to its simplistic engine - lots of vibrant colours too and well defined areas. Its much less grainy and blurry because of it.

Oh and I have an RGB modded N64 .

Mario 64 will always age well - it's very clean and simple in terms of effects. And the lack of any decent lighting doesn't matter since the whole gameworld was supposed to be bright and gaudy too.

I agree with rjpageuk about most N64 games, though OoT is quite clean compared to some games. Jet Force Gemini is quite difficult to play sometimes (cam't see the blasted ants). Don't forget that MM looked better, even if it needed the expansion pak.

The problem is most early 3D games look nasty. 2D games have pretty much ceased to exist. As such, the graphics have stood still in time, and haven't aged. Of course, a decent emulator will make them look better, but that's another thread entirely.

Ten years on my planet is equivalent to six years on your planet.

And then you ran out of time on a dungeon, had to save, and then do it again. Nrrgghhh! ft:

Sorry, I can't help it. The rage, it just takes over. Oh no, I'm getting memories back about my attempt to get the Couple's (excuse the gramer) Mask. Angry...[SMASH]

Did you know that if you played the song of time backwards, you could make each day last twice as long?
