Favourite time playing games?

I like to play either early 6-8 or late 9 to whenever. I actually find i am better at skill games like Psyvariar/PN03 etc early in the morning, and prefer just to lounge in my chair with a game like Zelda at nights.

I'd have to say my favourite time was around 1991. There were still arcade machines all over the place in my town. I could play Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat competively.

Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Madden Football, NHL Hockey and Pat Riley Basketball on the Mega Drive were digital ballet in 2-player. Games like that never grow old with a couple of enthusiastic participants.

The arcades are finished, my brother is gone to work abroad, my friends don't play games. The joys of social gaming are dead to me now.

Halo and the Xbox arrived on Xmas Eve, and I'd just travelled home for the holidays. me and my bro' caned it till early morning in co-op, in black and white! It was that good. First day the shops opened I took the Xbox to Currys and tried it on an NTSC compatible TV. The shop staff all gathered round as they had only heard about Xbox at that time. With colour we played it all again, drinking lager and scoffing mince pies and Terry's chocolate oranges. Twas genius gameplaying, lots of shouts of 'Fire in the hole' as we lobbed those plasma grenades. Another year/ish and I'll be doing it all again.....
