What was the last game you guys generally got excited about and couldn't wait to be released? I no longer check release dates and now tend to buy games 6 months to a year after they have been released!!

The last game i was excited about was Shenmue II on DC. I had that pre-orderd in then EB, now Game and i remember the buz of the final "big" DC game. Shame the release was non exsistent and was over shadowed by a glut of EA xmas releases on the PS2!!!
Anyway how about you guys??

Last pre-order was Soul Calibur 2... Twin Snakes was close but I think I ordered it the day of the Japanese release, so doesn't count.

I'm suprised that Halo 2 hasn't had that effect. I'm holding off the urge suprisingly well! I think it may be my first order with Videogames Plus though!

Beatmania IIDX ASC - It HAD to be pre-ordered and it's not a game so dunno whether that counts.

Beatmania IIDX 7th Style - I was so excited and desperate that I ordered 2 different copies from Play-Asia and Himeya just in case one doesnt get any in...

That's bout it recently ... oh and Psyvaria 2 of course.

aye, I went into EB and picked up my copy on launchday and the guy goes to me "your the only person who has bought this today, what's wrong with people?" the shop was nearly closing lol

Jeez. Nothing since like the early-to-mid N64 era, unless you count the orders I posted on dvdboxoffice.com for Sunshine and then Prime 2 days before it was out. :/

I dunno, I guess I'm either growing out of gaming, or there just hasn't been anything truly triple-A for a long time...

I preordered Mario Kart DD and 1080 Avalanche. Before that my last pre order must have been Zelda WW.

I pre-order everything I want at the same time usually. Saves ****ing around when it comes out. Probably the last preorder I got really excited about though was the Japanese Mario Sunshine. Valken from these forums got me all worked up about it and then I couldn't wait till I had it in my hands.

The only upcoming game that I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on and have preordered is Full Spectrum Warrior.

The last game I preordered was... heck, I think it was DOAXBV. Man, that was awhile ago...

I PO'd FF:CC @ DVDBO the first day it was available to pre-order (some 8-9 months before release). Was hella desperate to get my hands on the game.

Ironically, what with the game being lost in the post, I am still waiting for the game, its now 12 months since I preordered, DVDBO are "looking into it"

pikmin 2. got my order in the day play-asia started taking them.

i bought my 1st cube for the original & it's rewarded me with many hours of fun. there's just no way i'll wait for P2 a day longer than i have to... ...except that i can't stretch to priority shipping!

Last game i pre ordered ws Soul Calibur + arcade stick, again nothin has got me that excited lately sadly I think MGS: Snake Eater and Biohazard 4 there the only gamea i can see me pre orderin but who knows one gem might appear out of no where.

the last game i pre ordered i think was my xbox way back in november 01, i was in toys r us looking at what i could get for christmas off my mum, i was looking at the ps2 even though i knew i didn't want one, then i saw the staff were putting out a display6 that said pre order the xbox here today, so haveing read abit about it on the net i knew it was for me, i got my mum to pre order my a xbox with halo and pgr1, a whole 5months before release, i even wrote the number of days it was until release down on my school diary thing(which was a bad mistake as the days seemed to go really slow)


oh also i preordered mario kart DD with game but never got it from there so that doesn't count.


i think the next game i will pre order is HALO 2, i was going to pre order the pal version in late 02 when amazon had put it up, but forgot to(at least i think i didn't, better check)

The last game I looked forward to and preordered was Katamari Damashii, and it rocked. Before that was the Street Fighter anniversary edition, which also rocked. I had my ps2 chipped especially for SF as I thought it would never get released here. Glad I did though as I would never have played Bunjingai otherwise, (which could not be ignored after reading the thread on this site).

Before that I hadn't really pre-ordered much and did generally wait for hype to die on titles before buying them. The last things I bought were Pikmin and Luigi's Mansion. I got them super cheap and as they are not new I am not under the peer pressure of finding things before others do. Just got to stay well away from GameFAQs.

The last time I was really into getting games new was back in the SNES days when I had a US machine. It was so cool having games before others had really heard of them, (before the days of the Internet). The sight of SF2 on a PAL SNES was enough to turn the stomach.
