Thinking of getting an XBOX

I was thinking about getting an XBOX for a while and I was wondering whether anybody thinks it would be worth me buying one and if so, JAP or US? Thanks in advance

PAL Modded? They've jus dropped again over here pick one up in town ?130 with a game, can get them chipped for under ?50 and hello multi region gaming

Not to mention how useful chipped xbox's are for playing digital media. I use mine to watch all manner of different format audio and video through my TV/ Amp. Once you are running the EvoX dash and you have all the goodies installed like media player, the xbox becomes far more than just a console. The selection of games emulators available is also impressive. It really does have more support for the "modding" community than any of the other machines. When I purchased mine, I bought it specifically for this reason as I didn't actually like any of the games that were available at the time. Thankfully, several excellent titles have been released since then and it's become a very capable games machine.

For games, the PS2 is still king imo but the XB is a really good buy *provided* you get it modded.

Anyone know a good place to mod a Pal XBox?? - I've been tempted for a while now.

I heard Saurian does em for ?50, dunno if there's any truth in that though, u'd have to ask him

I've got a switched US XBox, which Saur done for me, so I'm able to enjoy both XBox Live and region-free gaming too. ^_^

Well worth doing IMO.
