I think I've just messed myself

We've had this argument before I'm sure, but are those the type of screens we can expect in game ?

The shots are all 800x600, a res that the XBox doesn't do, so yes - they are indeed mock-ups to make the game look better than it really will.

The most interesting aspect of those shots is that in the last one MC seems to be holding an Elite Sword - fun!

Yeah, if you watch the vids you can see that you can do that

The Xbox can do upto 1600 x 1200 IIRC.

And surely that's just from the development kit? Either way, they've never shown shots of anything that's falsely representing their games.

indeed, it seems part 2 of the halo 2 video is missing. strange!

i wonder if there will be better video material soon to follow. also, i was keen on seeing some new single player material. seems MS saves this up or focuses on multiplayer only for this E3. and shouldn't there be a playbable halo 2?

                    so far, i'm slightly disappointed

Yey, play as Covenant in Multi-Player! The Red vs Blue potential just went through the roof!

Caboose: WTF are you doing here. I thought you guys were like dead... or something? I'm gonna freak out! I'm freaking out!

Am I the only one who isn't convinced by the amazing... ness of bump-mapping. It looks like it's used to excess, especially on Master Chief. Some of the game looks amazing, those screens look wow (although they should be taken with a pinch of salt), but I honestly think that MC looks a little too... bumpy!

Some details about XBL integration and Gamplay bits

                        1Up

When a host drops out, the game won't stop -- host duties will simply transfer to another player.
Other helpful icons will appear on-screen as needed, like a low-ammo symbol or different colored flags. In the game we played, a red flag icon meant the enemy is currently running away with your flag, and a yellow one meant he dropped it and it's free at the moment (but not yet returned to the base). This not only tells you what's going on in areas that you can't see for yourself, but it'll help cut down on unnecessary shouting. Now, a bunch of excitable teammates won't need to scream out "They got the flag! They got the flag!" because this persistent icon (not just a one-time message) will be telling everyone that.
                        Gamespy

While it's hard to miss exploding Warthogs and Ghosts spiraling through the air, there was a lot more to the interactivity and physics of the level that became apparent over our hour of playtesting. In one area, I tried climbing on an innocent-looking rock to make my way to a staircase, and was surprised when the rock tipped over from under my feet. Inside the base, it was possible to chip away huge portions of the columns surrounding the flag base, until the room looked almost unrecognizable from its original state. Outside, you could rip apart the balconies and even hitch a ride on the slowly rotating fans of the blade if so inclined.
I read IGN Q&A, bungie are going to some amazing things with online, they're also fixing problems like hosts that drop etc

                        I ****ing love you Bungie

So far its pretty impressive. However as everyone knows map and weapon balance is what makes a good mp fps.

I thought the map on show on the vids looked pretty tight, and I like being able to play the convenant as well. Looking forward to seeing more gameplay movies over the next 3 days, and reading impressions.

Is there going to be more SP footage?

This game looks very impressive! 8)

Will two people be able to play the Single player mode over Xbox Live? I have not read anything about this over the past few days. I think it would be amazing to play through the story with a mate over the net, the only thing missing from Halo was the ability to play the single player game over a network imo.

Also if you have watched the movie from E3 2004 (I am guessing most of you have) don't you just think the vehicle damage was quailty.
