    Running oldgames on XP

i attempted to install Discworld todayn XP and when i try and play it it says that the C:\ drive is not fixed because my PC harddisk is called F:\ is there anyway of getting past this?

Change the Drive letter using the Disk Management Utility under Administrative Tools > Computer Management?

Even if you get that fixed, I would be surprised if you get it running smoothly. It is a fairly old game and it's a bit of a lottery. E.g. Civ II and C&C don't work, but Atomic Bomberman does.

Failing that you could try using DOS box, a DOS emulator for windows.

Last time I checked though, DOSBox didn't support DOS/4GW (protected-mode) games. Which rules out just about every DOS game from 1996 and later.

I'm pretty sure DOS4GW/Protected Mode has been added now
