Will this TV be any good for component gaming?

Its got 2 RGB scarts which is a good start but also has the following:
    Component video (Y,Pb,Pr) inputs (625p, 525p, 625i, 525i, 1125i)

Will these component inputs be any good for XBOX and Gamecube?

    Its the new JVC 28d40.

I am tempted but I watch a lot of sport so am a bit concerned I won't get on with the 100hz processing. I may stick with a cheaper 50hz set.

Why won't you get on with 100hz processing ?? a good 100hz tv gives a much better smoother image than the same tv in 50hz, getting a trail behind the ball watching football isn't an issue anymore.
As for the Component inputs yes they will work fine with the xbox or GC(with the relevent cable) although the standard pal xbox and GC only offer interlaced component.

I have a US gamecube and XBOX. But will these work through component as the TV specs don't mention 480p or 720p?

The prog scan options you have listed are pal prog scan, so as long as the tv supports ntsc prog scan as well then yes your GC will display the games that have the prog scan option in 480p, same with the xbox but some xbox titles support 720p and 1080i aswell as 480p, just make sure the set does pal & ntsc prog scan. If it only does pal then your xbox and GC will display in interlaced (480i) form, which is very slighty superior to RGB scart.

480p is the same as 525p (ie. ntsc prog scan). ntsc uses 525 scanlines but only 480 of them are actually used for picture information. for some reason the description has not been standardised so different companies will use different names for it. 625p (pal prog scan) is also referred to as 576p for the same reason.

              Thanks for the info.

Is 1080i the same as 1125i then?
