Bring back Day of the Tentacle, and Full Throttle I say
That and the new Sam and Max game ( those bastards ) !
I tried Maniac Mansion the other day. I liked the way they'd updated the interface to look like the later `point and click` releases.
Always wanted to play Zak McKracken - guess now is a good time to give it a go.

Well, whilst we're on Grim Fandango confessions here, I must admit to only ever having played the demo. I'm a bit of a staunch 2D man when it comes to adventure games, and the likes of MI:3 with it's lovely hand drawn visuals is perfection for me. Sadly 3D adventures struck me as being 3D for the sake of it, a result of the playstation generation if you like.
Probably not a fair assessment and I've obviously missed out, but it just doesn't feel the same. I didn't even attempt MI:4 for the same reason.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Fill a dvd with utterly superb 1600x1200 artwork and we'll all buy it. Lucasarts, ball is in your court tbh.

I'm with you Super Stu, although i have played the full game of Grim Fandango or tried to, i just couldn't get into it, i love point & clickers but it just didn't "click" with me like the classics did.
Another point and click adventure i loved was Kings Quest VI, i've been trying to source a copy for ages, BASS is now freeware(floppy & cd talkie versions) its readily available as a free download on the scummVM website to those who don't know.
ScummVM is fantastic, it has allowed me to play many of my old classics like Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Beneath a Steel Sky, Simon the Sorceror 1 and Flight of the Amazon Queen(also freeware) all under Windows XP on my laptop and i still love them today.
I do need to get the Monkey island games again and Indiana Jones & the Fate of Atlantis then i will be one happy point & click junkie.

Sorry for bringing the thread back from the dead. Second time today, heh.
Can't comment on what SCUMM was like back in the day, but it's working perfectly for me now.
Being on a Mac (and only for a few years, mind), I'd never played any of these Lucas Arts classics before. Started playing GBA Broken Sword the other day and it set me off on a search for similar titles. This thread through up a few alternatives, and more importantly, a way to play them.
I'm still dead chuffed that I can use a Windows version of Sam and Max in my iMac on OSX, and not only does it work, but there's different filters to make it look even prettier
The bonus of Beneath a Steel Sky (wonderful game too) being a legally free download on SCUMM is also a huge bonus. Really starting to get into this genre of game, on the hunt for cheapish versions of Monkey Island.
Just started Simon the Sorceror, and whilst it's primitive next to Lucas effort's, it's fun.
Apparently there's an Xbox port of SCUMM, can't find it though.
