    Saving music from game disc?

I'd love to have the proper Rez music on my ipod (not the re-mix official soundtrack).

Is there any way of accessing the music on the game CD (PS2 version) with my PC and converting it to MP3 or similar?

Not fabby-dabby method and I haven't got my PS2 to hand to check, but feed the audio from your PS2 into a line-in socket on your computer (NOT the MIKE!!!!) and record from that using windows movie maker. Save as .wma. Convert to mp3 using iTunes. Of course, this method would naturally take a very long time (as long as the track length and then some) and the recording volume/line in volume needs adjusting. I do something similar with old tapes and records. It's a bit heath robinson and very very dull, but I get paid in beer, so I'm not complaining.

Or, if iPods can record directly from the source, like the IRiver, then do that.

Check out this thread. I made some suggestions in it:

Some of the text has been badly reformatted since the forum crossover, though, and looks like gibberish

Thanks guys - looks like a long night recording stuff at the original playback speed for me then. I do have a creative sound card with optical input so it's a bit easier than mucking around with phonos etc.

The music tracks in Rez aren't made up of "normal" music files though - the music reacts to how you are playing the game. Unless you are planning to record the sound of yourself playing the game all the way through (complete with plinky-plonky shooting and powering up sound effects), you are not going to achieve this.

Yes, but you can record for a loooooong time using Windows Movie Maker (just raise the 'stop recording after x hours limit'). Then start recording, and then play the game as normal (hope you're good). Then save this (admittedly massive) recording as a .wma. Then re-open this file in Movie Maker for editing purposes. You can then truncate the master record at different places (without effecting the original recording, providing you don't save over it, so I advise making a backup of the master first) to get a particular 'level' or section and then save these as seperate tracks.

It's so goddamn boring though. If you have a laptop with a line in, then stick it next to the telly, and pause the game and stop recording at every point you want. It's probably worth it in the end.

Disclaimer: Haven't played much of Rez. Requires a fair bit of space on the hard disk, as well as the conversion process taking a lot of processing time. BE patient.

It must be possible because I got the correct version of Fear (without any sound effects) from alt.binaries.game music whatever...

I've found this: *** Removed by Chad ***

but it's a .torrent file whatever that is?
I'm not too clued up on all the "eye patch & parrot" related file protocols.

that looks like the rip posted on rllmuk. somebody got all the music from the game, encoded it and released it on the forum with proper names and everything; a torrent followed shortly after.

                  edit: here you go: http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php...c=31250&hl=rez

Excellent. The music in the game is better than that on the soundtrack, I cannot deny.

I also cannot allow you to post to .torrent sites SuperBrother By all means go to rllmuk and follow their link if you like.

BTW, to download torrents you need bittorrent. Google it.
