HELP! Panasonic Q DVD Problem

Hi,
Earlier when cleaning up I somehow managed to pull the power plug out the back of the Q while the disc tray was closing, and it was stuck out about an inch.
It seemed to pause a while when I got the cable back in but eventually powered back up, I noticed it had gone into Japanese - Great!
I just tried to play a PAL DVD on it, it would not run and I got a load of Japanese (I could imagine what it said!), after finding the menu and switching back to English (as it was set the day I got it), I now get 'cannot read disc', or similar when running R2, although strangely it still runs R1 discs with no problems.
How have I managed to re-lock my modded Q for PAL DVD's, and can at anyone help me put it back to region free, as I cannot find the info anywhere on the net.

It's normally done by upgrading the firmware with a special CD, which isn't easy to come by.

Here's the Q mods for ya china plate,however the service disk only unlocks it for NTSC discs,and the PAL mod involves fitting a new memory chip,capacitors and all manner of ****,so i dont know what you can have done tbh.(and what you need to do to remedy it).
