Changing the PSU on a Jpn Saturn

I have a donor PAL console which i have opened up and removed the PSU (i hope,i guess its the long circuit board with the socket on the end),so is it just a question now of doing the same in my white Saturn and swapping them over?
    Thanks in advance

If the PSUs have the same pin configuration then yes that's fine - the voltages are written next to each pin, make sure they match up. You should have a 12v line, 2 5v lines, a 3.3v and ground (if I remember properly)

Depends, as long as the PAL donor board is the newer version from the machine with the round buttons then yes it should just swap over, although make sure you put the plastic sheeting back under the PSU board or your Saturn will make a loud bang as you plug it in.

          Cheers Saur
          The PAL psu has 9v,5v,3.3v,g,g.
Call me stupid, will they be the same on a Jpn psu. Im hoping this works so i can negate the need for a stepdown.

            Thanks fellas,
I left the plastic sheet in the donor Saturn! That could of been hairy!
I thought the oval buttoned Saturn was the newer PAL one. My donor console has oval buttons, and the white has round,is this a problem?

              Yeah it's a problem

You need the same model donor Saturn with the same PSU type as your Japanese one. Find yourself a round button UK Saturn and make a straight swap.
