    TV capture card becoming a pain in the arse

    I've got a TV capture from a bootfair and the CD it came with doesn't have drivers that work on XP i now very little about the card apart from it has the BT848 chip set on it can anybody help me out also how do i check if it is working properly i've thought about plugging my games consoles in

    does it have 2000 drivers as they may work.

      I guess it's an internal one, plug any external picture source into it and see what happens, you can't do any harm to the card/console whatever.
      Don't you know make and model of card ?

        did you bother googling, avermedia drivers support the BT848 chip, their
        TV cards are pretty much the best you can get under ?X00, cheap too

        don't expect much putting a console on a decent monitor, monitors are just
        too sharp, they make games look pixelated, great for capturing footage &
        screenshots though, with AverTV it records straight to MPEG2 the same format
        as DVD's, can be converted into DivX for internet publishing with just a mouse click

          i have no clue of the make all i know it was made in 1998 and i has a BT484 chip set in it and it came with TVviewer on the CD.

            Sounds like you may have the TV98 card, anyway all the drivers can be found here
            just follow the instructions on the website, if one driver doesn't work uninstall it using
            the uninstall program from the website, and try another.
