jp ps2 online- Worth it?

Ive had a japanese ps2 for some time now but never really thought about getting online with it. Now ive got some cash and time spare plus the inclination to learn basic japanese text if need be. So i dont splash my cash foolishly does anyone here whose online with the jp model ps2's think its worth it? If so what advice can you give me.

Waste of time and effort. Use your PC or Xbox instead. They have better online content anyways.
