See, this is gonna be my first wrestling type game, never played the WWE/F games past or present. Hope it comes through the post this week though!

Ok, a brand new copy arrived a few days ago and I've got to grips with it. What initially hit was the crisp visuals, the detail of the rings - including a great animated crowd, cameramen & announcers. Its all very bright and in your face with solid grapples, of which all the special moves are totally outrageous, I've never seen so much crazy carnage in a game, those moves gave me a huge smile and made me wince at the impact. Character design is great, some good stuff there, loads to unlock in the way of playable guys too, collectables museum of sorts, lots of different game modes too. The voice acting uses the same actors from the TV series, and I'm really impressed with it, really adds character to the players, some quirky english and a dodgy Sean Connery accent in their, top stuff.
I have two gripes though, fairly major too. Firstly, all the characters while looking different perform pretty much the same moves with the same button presses to boot, though each character has 3 siginiture moves and some characters move faster than others etc. Secondly, the combat is far too basic, its fun yeah and I haven't grown bored at all but I wish there was a learning curve to it, those specials I mentioned are activated by pressing the shoulder buttons together, I would have found it more satisfying if I had to pull of some sort of King move to get something that cool. More depth would have been appreciated, but it does make it easy to pick up and play.
