    Desktop Orientation

Anyone know of any software which would let me change my windows desktop orientation to portrait? I can rotate my TFT screen, and would like to try this out. I know its a feature of NVidea NView package, Ive tried this and as I dont have a Nvidea card it did not work.

    So what card you got?
I'm sure Ati's driver guff lets you rotate screen too.

No such luck, its onboard graphics, a SiS M650 (closes annoying polyphonic pop-up window) display adapter, ive searched the settings but theres nothing there for this.

I've got some software that came with my Samsung TFT that I don't use cos my Nvidia drivers take care of it.

        It's called Pivot Pro

because it's good for coding / word processing? Some of the 70s wang word processers had vertical screens and you can buy rotatable screens nowdays too... ^_^

1024 * 1280 is pretty cool when it comes to working on lots of docs at once...

Way back when Xerox were coming up with the stuff they originally envisioned that displays would be in portrait not landscape.

That was one thing Apple and MS didn't rip off.

Thanks for the link Valken, Im currently using a trial version of Pivot Pro and have a month or so to find a way of keeping it without forking out $50 for the thing o_^

Ive attached an image to show why I like this orientation so much, combined with my rotatable TFT.

Interestingly, I have a Samsung TFT also, Ill try to dig out the software (if any) which came with it as I may already have this program.

I'd spend the equivalent $50 on a cheap nvidia card myself.

ditto, rotate is a driver feature, so in theory a seriously old card
worth penny change could maybe also do this.

Tablet PC users have been singing the praises of portrait for a good few months, makes me want one. Then again, I'm the exact opposite atm, with a widescreen TFT. Great for games/movies, a bit of a dog for browsing and coding.
