    US composite to UK Scart?

Hello everyone, I just moved to the UK from the US and I brought my xbox... can I simply get a cable to convert the composite lead to a rgb scart lead? (Besides the power step-down, I got that part already.) My television is 50hz, with a scart port. Thanks!

Composite to RGB scart? No, you can get a scart adaptor but it won't be RGB Buy yourself a proper RGB lead, the Joytech ones are around ?12.

The RGB scart cable uses your 21 pin Scart socket, Its not a specialised port over here.

I guess what im asking is, if i buy a scart lead for my US xbox, will it work with my 50hz PAL television? Ive never even seen a scart lead until I moved here two weeks ago

In the UK RGB is nearly always fed into the TV through a SCART connector.

If your TV will accept RGB throught the SCART socket then as Commander Marklar rightly says, a proper RGB SCART cable is will give you the best possible picture (without using component and progressive scan). If not then you can get a SCART adaptor that will allow you to connect your composite cable through the SCART socket on the back of the TV. These can be bought for a couple of pounds from somewhere like Maplins, Currys or Comet etc.

As your console outputs NTSC then i doubt that if your TV won't accept RGB it will playback an NTSC composite video signal properly. If that happens then you can either buy a new TV or maybe get your XBox chipped which will allow you to change the video signal from NTSC to PAL.

            Hope that helps.
