Normally I would let this pass but when a youngster is involved it's hard to - what should I do other than complain to the store manager who I know will swear blind that is was new?
A mate from work used to work in game. He told me that when new games come out they give copies to their staff to play it before it goes on general release as its easier to sell something you've played.

Generally it has been known that some staff in some shops have been known to take products home and bring them back or swap with their own damaged one etc etc.

It happens all the time not just in videogame shops but in all retail shops.

Take it back and demand you money or a selaed game. If they are worth there salt they will take it back.

Sorry to bump this thread but I just need clarification on the GAME return policy. I bought Burnout 3 on the 10th and want to return it on Monday for Mario Golf on the 20th. The return policy it within 10 days so is the 20th the last day or the 19th?

      Thanks.

        The 20th.

The vast majority of stores will extend to 20+ days if you're not aggressive about asking. From my experience as long as you're not a chav and the game is mint then there's no problem exchanging past the 10 day limit. Can only speak about the store I work in but we are told by senior management that 10 days is a guideline not a rule.

Thanks bowser123. The game is in excellent condition and I can't see any major scratches on the disk so hopefully it should be OK.

Best place for selling and buying pre-owned games is www.cex.com they dont have many store but on the website it tells you how much cash or exchange you will get for the game, console and most other electrical devices. They also sell xbox 360 in stock, you will have to pay a bit extra but the consoles worth it, i mean microsoft loss money every xbox 360 sold.
