Too good to be true? Multi RGB lead

A real n00b post, and probably hopelessly naive, but this lead would be perfect for a mate of mine who hasn't got a lot of disposable income:

Don't suppose for a moment it's fully-wired RGB for all those consoles. That'd be too good to be true. Or is it....? LMK if you know...

It really is bruv - I used to buy them as a cheap way of getting the various connectors without having to rip up multiple cables. The ones I used to get off Licky were definetly correctly wired for RGB with autoswitch.

I though about buying one of these before? but never did.
I always wondered if you could connect it to all the consoles at once, then what ever one you power up would come on the TV right away? right? in theory.

Jakeway: according to the feedback, even leaving the other connectors plugged in to the other machines isn't a good idea (sounds like it causes drain), so multiple switching in a row probably isn't wise either ^_~
Still, miniscule price to pay for a cable that does all that it does for under a tenner!

Your N64 needs to be internally modded to output in RGB you see. So this RGB cable won't give an RGB picture out of a normal N64

PAL N64's can't be modded to RGB according to all the sites I've checked. Only the US/JAP versions can - Saurian does this.

I have a spider RGB cable too (got mine from lik-sang). It's nice, but I have problems when hooking up certain consoles at the same time (only one is on at a time though):

1) PS2 - goes a bit grey if another console is hooked up. G-Con 2 won't work as a result

2) Gamecube - no sound output

3) Dreamcast - sometimes causes the orange power light to come on (i'm serious) even if the power cable is unplugged!

As a result, the consoles get plugged and unplugged as they're used, but at least it saves plugging/unplugging scart connectors which would start to damage my 14" TV after a while

There is some super skill method of modding Pal N64's for rgb. But anyone worrying about that would also be worrying the games would be running dead slow with borders.

That's the trouble with these All-In-One leads, if the other consoles are plugged in (which they obviously will be) you get a worse picture because of the drain.
